Ofcourse! You’re right. Women should be confident in admitting it they want a capable man even though they themselves are earning. Cos God gave women the burden of child bearing. Men don’t have that burden/privilege however you wanna see it. So it makes it easier for men to go out and earn higher, concentrate more on work. Toh jab kaam hi ek ho, toh karo na fir ache se wohi. No one expects men to care for elders in family, so house work and bear children. They have a lot of time to focus on work and earn money. But women are just shamed to point out the truth. I am all about equality. But equality has limits. Everyone should give their 100% in a relation. A man’s 100% is different from a woman’s 100%. But the standards for women is too high. She has to also work, earn money, look good, leave her parents, give birth. Men only have to earn money which is relatively easier cos it fits their gender roles. Women earning and balancing family is a constant struggle. They aren’t taken seriously at work and at home they are shamed cos they spend time at work. If they don’t work and care for family, their value takes a nose dive. Given how vulnerable position it is for women in the society, the least we can ask for is to get capable men who can provide for the woman and the child in emergency. I’ve seen it’s usually incompetent men who comment that women run after money. Those who are secure and successful recognize the rationale behind it. Also Men look for women who are good looking and youthful. No one shames them for this. Everyone knows how it’s extremely difficult to fulfill these standards just as they find it difficult to cater to women’s standards for men.
