I wish you could give me a step by step showing each chuck pick pull toolpath as I just began working as cnc programmer for Dmg mori c/y axis lathe with dual sided tool changer and main & sub spindle chucks.

In Catia, I can pan, zoom, rotate, using a single mouse, without having to use a Spacemouse. In Mastercam, zooming using the scroll wheel annoying. In Catia, I like press middle button and right click to zoom. Catia sucks in may ways, but at least this is where Catia is better than Mastercam.

Every plane I create for a Y milling or drilling operation outputs as a different work offset (G55,G56,etc.) in the code. Did I miss something simple in the creation or is it something in the post I need to modify?

Hello! Thank you for all your videos. I'm wondering if you have any tricks for rotating the part more precisely. When I rotate my part with my middle button/wheel, I have a hard time moving things just a tiny little bit. Is there a setting for that or is it maybe just the quality level of my mouse?

I have a hard time believing that the people who sell mastercam know who or what actually made the software. Which explains why the menus never make sense.

This is the most helpful video I have found on live tool path programming. I've been having a hell of a time getting my part programmed, I keep getting screwy tool paths and code, I think this is going to help. Thanks man.

Hi, I believe the reason it did the same pass twice on the multi passes was because you had the finish pass at zero, essentially a spring pass.. hope this helps

For a Lathe Stock Transfer in Mastercam 2020(and back to at least 2018) there are a few things that simplify the process, but yes it is complicated no matter what CAM software is being used unfortunately. One thing that helps is in the machine group properties under Stock Setup make sure to define the stock in your left spindle, then define your Chuck Jaws in both left and right spindles. The position of the right chuck jaw as well as the Grip length parameter will automatically populate a stock transfer operation for you. Leaving you just to select the geometry and pick a few options like if you want to blank the original, offset level etc. This might not be a magic button but the values that populate will get you pretty close right away. Also unfortunately the "Edit common parameters" doesn't let you change the tool/axis orientation of multiples at once, that sure would be handy for your example.

you took the words right out of my mouth I feel a lot better knowing i am not the only one that feels like i do. I have learned everything to date from You tube and a couple of simple commands (but indispensable) through Tech support. Those guys know the product but they really need some standards of functionality!

Thank for your sharing and your effort you has put in the video. I;m newbie too, try all my best to self-taught. Mastercam and their training cost a tons of money for the beginner. In the Titan CNC group on Facebook where they teach and train newbie design, CAD, CAM via Fusion 360. This software is newbie friendly. If you have time, I think it worth to take a look.

I don't have experience but a guy here said that the upper B head without lower turret machine is pretty nice in mill turn but when you get a lower turret involved it is not as good- more confusing.

You can solve this issue by transforming the current work plane. I can help you with this if you would like to share an example. What you are describing I do regularly in Mastercam when I have multiple loading's of the same part and without an editor.

That's interesting. If I find time I'll try that on lathe. I also hired a guy and I'm going to try to figure out how to handle multi offset subprogram posting in a way that Fanuc will output complete so that the program integrity is maintained and one code runs multiple offsets in a mill. This should be the only way that mastercam works in mills, but it isn't.

I was going to say the same. Easy in MC. I can understand the confusion because the Translate function is poorly laid out and confusing. Secondly, this really has nothing to do with Cimco. Any text editor, even notepad, can copy/paste/edit.
