Well, it is now 2024 and if you love gospel camp meeting music like this, listen very closely because this is probably the last time you will hear it performed. In the mid-80s the Cleveland Church of God decided (in their flawless wisdom??) to abandon gospel music and to embrace (with open arms) any and all music of the contemporary genre. In the entire history of Pentecostalism, this has to be the worst decision ever made. The ensuing contemporary mishmash-like harsh noise has no meaning or reference to Christianity. It is a tragedy of the first kind. And that is just the least of what happened. This same "wise" church denomination also dropped all holiness standards while embracing all of the world's worldly dress/appearance standards. The COG today would not be recognizable from the COG of the 20th century up until the mid-80s. This deplorable decision by the hierarchy of the GOG Cleveland, TN. has resulted in a watered-down kind of Christianity that looks like, sounds like, and smells like the world. I hope the powers to be are satisfied with their horrendous decisions.

My daughter final paper on Steve Hill. She was able to give it to him to read when he stayed at a B&B I managed in Vernon Al. He was there to preach at local church. I think it was 2001.

My daughter was 15 when we attended. God had already called her to ministry. We went as often as we could. Then in 1999 I was blessed to get a job transfer to Pensacola. She wanted to attend School of Ministry which she did and graduated in 2000.

,Read the Bible you say you love. Not fake preachers. If Jesus came to save those under the law from the curse of the law as the Bible says, is that you? None of the letters were to us. 2000 year old letters addressed to people living then is not us. If Jesus came at the end of the age to put away sin ,what are you repenting of. Sin and law coexisted, and both are gone. Sin was the trespass of the law. Your Bible says says. The law and sin are gone. The modern church is not the church. They claimed ownership of the great commission ,telling the world of Jesus from the apostles after they fulfilled it. Colossians1. The church fulfilled all of what they were meant to do then. None of the Bible is to us. Where do we get that from? It's nowhere in the Bible that any of it was to us. Why do we pretend it is?: Jesus came to save those under the law from the curse of the law. We were never under it. Even old testament Daniel says Jesus would come to end transgressions and sacrifice and he did. Sacrifices were stopped when the temple was destroyed in 70 ad. Why does the "church" not celebrate the fact that God through Jesus reconciled the world back to Himself? Plain as day in the Bible. The "church" is still after almost 2000 years trying to pull people under the curse of law and sin when bothe were abolished, and never meant for always anyway. The Jews were under the curse of the law. Jesus said,"I came only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. They had to repent because sin was the trespass of the law.Just because a book written and badly mistranslated and we can hold it and read it does not make it to us. It's even still written in the present tense. Me,we,I,you,they,those,....none of those words mean us. The world has been reconciled and sin put away. The curse of Adam is gone that caused the world to lose fellowship with God. Why do we not believe it and celebrate that ,and stop letting people try and pull others under sin and law? The Bible says plainly that when Jesus went back to heaven that he submitted to God. The Greek for submitted is to become subservient . It says all that God placed under Jesus feet was placed back under God's. All power and authority given Jesus by God to do his work given back as well as the kingdom won back by Jesus.its says also that God is all and in all. You see,the fake church has practically erased good and evil which has always been and promoted sin which was the trespass of the law and gone. There has always been evil which comes from the heart. Sin was of the flesh, and the reason Jesus flesh had to die,and it was of the law. We ,God being all and in all know good,we know evil and if someone refutes that they are kieing. God is all and in all. Why do we not worship God as He says we are supposed to in this age. Jesus finished his work and submitted to God. We are to worship God and God alone. Jesus was not given power and authority forever. God is all and in all. We don't even live like He has the power to bring new revelation to mankind because of a book. We trust Him for nothing because of a book with 2000 year old letters in them. God reigns and always will and he is who is to be worshipped ,trusted for real truth. He is all and in all. Start reading your Bible correctly and realize that we,me,you, they, those, them are not referring to us. Watch for who is being talked to and don't pretend it was written to us. You will slowly see truth. God has waited for almost 2000 years to be worshipped since Jesus finished his work. Flee evil which always has been ,do good, and worship God. God through Jesus did the greatest work on earth there ever was ,but Jesus finished and turned all back over to God. We ,the world have been reconciled, and should be living it for God. Hope that helps.

My mom attended Brownsville when she was in college. Funny thing is that at the same time her dad (my grandpa) led Ravenna Assembly of Good in an incredible revival that put a mark in thousands of lives. I'm desperate for people to know Jesus and I'm only 12 years old. But sometimes you just can't contain that mighty power! Do it again, Lord! I need Revival! Hallelujah!

I attend Heritage Fellowship in Florence Kentucky. My Pastor Cleddie Keith is friends with your grandfather. He spoke there during revival back in the day. Heritage had revival break out right before Brownsville. I grew up in religion, I missed the great moves of God in the 1990’s. But I believe the Church as a whole hasn’t seen anything yet! Blessings to you!

Listening to the Imperials is sort of like listening to the Statesmen, but with much better recording techniques and a slightly larger and tighter band. Truly impressive singing and great arrangements.
