Use both, 16oz for conditioning and 10-12oz to check the speed, form, accuracy etc. Lighter gloves gives more feedback especially on the mitts but also on the bag.

So stop building strength with speed ...just work on my pussy I mean speed as much as possible got it coach who no one ever asked for your training advice...who is this guy
@williamtolliver7494 күн бұрын
At best, you can take kids advice for progression. I do recommend starting at beginner glove weight to get comfortable and do good numbers of punches with good form before adding weight, but you do eventually want to train in 16s primarily

You are correct and statistics show it. 1 or 2 punches you can be knocked out or in the ufc a quick stoppage but in boxing you get a count of 10 and if you can get up you carry on fighting. Like u also said boxing has sustained punches to the head too

Hit the Bag with old fashioned Bag Gloves. Not 10 or 12oz. Gloves. It's like running with ankle weights dosent make You faster

Shadow box with 2lb-5lbs weights, hit bag with 16oz gloves, and those 12-10oz gloves will feel like nothing is even there meaning you’ll last longer and be faster. Don’t listen to this guy.

I’m literally a beginner and all I have is a 16oz and I noticed my jabs get faster because they’re heavier and I feel the fatigue as soon as the gloves come off I saw the difference and weeks have gone by I literally surprised my self today with how fast I threw my jabs

This is terrible advice. Form is more important. If you are getting reps in with horrible form, you’re poorly training the subconscious and developing poor muscle memory. 16 oz gloves provide more protection for your hands. Perfect practice makes perfect.

Training with big gloves will improve striking faster then smaller gloves. It’s like learning how to dribble better by putting a plastic bag over the ball, it just works

I understand what he is saying, but I still don't agree that bkb is "less dangerous". I guess we just have to see the long term effects of bkb and the average career length.

I do 12-3 minute rounds with 16 oz gloves and have the same output as 12 oz gloves. Get the 16s and get your conditioning dow .

I go the same chain boxing gym you're shooting this video in (Mayweather boxing + fitness) and while I use 12 oz gloves, every trainer in the gym suggests 16 oz gloves.
