Kinda wish I just bought the whole box of the blind boxes, didn’t know it was an option and I’m too socially awkward to ask the store people… just missing regular Ultraman hands up version Edit: Regular Emi too…. Dropped mine from a high place

@@An_Ootramen Aw, I’m so sorry to hear that! That’s a terrible feeling. For what it’s worth, HobbyLink Japan still has the complete set in stock if you’re interested! It doesn’t specify that you’ll get all of them, but mine was a complete set so it seems like a reasonable bet. If you don’t mind my asking, where did you get yours? I haven’t seen individual boxes up for sale before.

Have you seen the 3OCM Gorgo, which is really 33CM? It's a non articulated soft vinyl figure. It is absolutely beautiful.

I have! It looks beautiful, like they peeled it off the friggin' screen! Statues really aren't my wheelhouse and it's a bit expensive for me, but it's gonna look stunning in folks' X-Plus collections and such!

@@jaxsaurus I have one too, but another is on the way. I have to do some customization on one of them. Does yours balance with the tail up in the air. Do you wish for the tail to be against the surface of what ever you have it placed on for the more screen accurate tail dragging? Let me know. It's a quick easy trick.
@jaxsaurus
@jaxsaurus Ай бұрын
@@louisborselio8608 Mine's been able to balance with the tail off the ground so far, with a little finicking with the feet, but given the feel of the joints, I don't know how long it'll be able to. I tend to go for the tail dragging pose just to be safe.
@louisborselio8608
@louisborselio8608 Ай бұрын
@@jaxsaurus Until I made the change, the tail stayed up in the air. I tried leaning it back to rest on the tail, but she just popped forward and the tail floated up again. I can't wait to get the second one so I can show people the slight but effective differences.

I have mixed feelings about this. The proportions are very strange, despite being articulated you can’t recreate any of the poses from the game, not even his idle stance. It’s also tiny so it’s not fitting in with any other 6” figure. And I would’ve preferred a fireball, his signature attack, instead of a spirit ball, which doesn’t even come with a plastic stand to hold it. It’s okay, but it could’ve been so much better. The only other piece of merchandise from the game is Aggar (the first boss) by a company called Geek Life but good luck finding one because it was made back in 2014 in limited quantities.

10:28 man I can relate to this shit a lot, my college has something massive against my passion for tokusatsu and sometimes anime (godzilla included) they see it as nothing more than a joke and a big mistake to fiction and act like I'm the idiot for covering this topic, that's what caused me to get triggered by skippers lazy and horrendous take on Godzilla even though I myself have always been more of a Power Rangers/Ultraman guy growing up I cannot believe how much info a normie can get wrong about Godzilla. (Great response btw. Sorry for the stupidly long comment)

No need to apologize! It really is unfortunate to see so many people write off this swath of fiction out of hand, and for such arbitrary reasons. I think maybe part of the reason Americans are so averse to Tokusatsu media it’s the basis on which it operates. The American entertainment industry puts so much stock into being “realistic” and “serious,” that anything that deviates from that method of storytelling is looked down upon. Tokusatsu for example operates on a level of surreality that might be foreign to some, but that leads to people not giving it a chance and that’s terribly sad. There are so many beautiful stories, and it’s disheartening to see them being written off because people are afraid of judgement or unwilling to give it a chance because it’s “weird” or whatever the hell. The Ultraman series on its own is such a deep well of incredible stories and rich worlds, and it’s a damn shame that our cultural relationship with media is such that it’s considered “lesser” for such arbitrary and unfair reasons. It’s a whole phenomenon that warrants discussion in and of itself, and it hurts to see something you care about get trashed so needlessly. I had a very similar experience just the other day at school, and it sucks. I think it’s important that we lean on our own relationships with the things we love, and remember that nothing can take that away from us. Even if people point and laugh, make fun, or say derisive things, it will usually be coming from a place of arrogance, which is why it’s important to engage in genuine, well-meaning expressions and discussions, rather than worthless bullshit like Skipper’s video. Thank you for watching and sharing!
