That Outdoor Life Manual is an excellent book to have! I don't care what your skill level is, it will help you. I have over a dozen of these types of books, including the SAS book you mentioned. In every one of them, I either learn something or it reminds me of something I had forgotten about.

Nice video! It's always good to show people the different options. I have a version of all of them except for the first one. For the most part, in its place, I have a 4-man 11x9 dome tent with a 4 ft. porch on it. It's my truck camping tent. I love using it in state parks in the wintertime. It's perfect for me and my 2 dogs. Then I have a 2 man with a vestibule, a bivy tent, 2 hammocks and a few tarps. I also have a gore-tex bivy bag for when it's really wet or really cold and I'm tarp camping. I like that pop up you have! With those high side walls you can use it in the winter.

The beauty about doing grommets even if you do not own a kit, is that they are very affordable for any person.. craft stores, big box stores, hardware stores and even harbor freight sell kits and they range in price but I’d say average is between $10-20 depending on the store.. hope that helps you
