All of these players say "he lived it". That's why they train here. The suggestion being that he had a long career doing these things, therefore I'll lengthen my career doing them? Anecdotal evidence is not scientific evidence.

So many of the therapies shown here are pure pseudo-scientific nonsense. Waste your money any way you'd like, I suppose.

Can you show us a recommended week-long meal course plan? Maybe either Gary would've became adapted to while playing in NHL or what modern players are doing? Thanks!

Very helpful. I recently am getting back into skating and hoping to get back into hockey. 28 years old. Last time I skated full time was when I was around 12 years old. Obviously I've gotten much taller since my youth hockey days. The ice seems so much lower now (since I'm a grown adult.) Trying to get back to used to skating and picking up speed. This really helped. Thanks Gary and Tara! Good reminder not to slouch forward. I look forward to trying this drill next practice =)

LOOOOVE what your sharing with us here from the top shelf of hockey specific training. It gives me great ideas for my own training and for the training of some little hockey players I have the privilege of mentoring. Thanks for posting, Adrian. It is very generous of you. Big fan of your podcast as well. Keep it coming- you're a gold mine of knowledge.

squats, pullups and a routine for core strength is all you need for hockey. speed and agility is genetic. you either have it or you don't. just ask phil kessel. you ever see a rabbit training to make all those dekes when being chased by a coyote?
@harrison2755
@harrison2755 5 жыл бұрын
you're out of your mind if you think you can be a pro athlete without training speed and agility... that goes for pretty much any sport. McDavid, Larkin, Mackinnon etc aren't just the fastest in the league because of genetics, they bust their asses to get that fast and explosive
