Thank you for explaining this in the detail you did. I've watched EricC and PaulC's video, I much like how you explained things, even though you have the older T5. I have a '95 WC T5 that came out of an S10. I'm adapting it to a '46 Chevy. Between Paul's assembly video and this one, most everything was explained. That is one complaint I have about Paul's book. It seems some of the pics are upside down, so it's hard to discern the orientation in some of them. Anyway, thanks for doing your video?

Most are only made to cut copper or pvc. There’s a couple on the market that can cut thin walled conduit. Picked one up to try, hope it works

After having rebuild/repaired over 1000 T-5s the first thing I would do before any disassembly is shift trans into 1st Gear , slip a yoke into the mainshaft spin the trans backwards from the rear yoke ,this loads the drive side of the gears ,Gear Noise should be about the same in either direction , If its more noise in one direction ,you can count on the input and cluster being worn , than check reverse I've seen alot of T-5s with broken or bent reverse teeth ,meaning that the cluster gear and reverse idler will most likely need replacement ,Most used T-5s are worn out junk today.

This has been a long known problem with BBK for year's since the early 2000's. I really just avoid anything they make now unless I really really really have too luckily have been very successful not needing anything they make lately.

Can you use the new style housing with the same pins? I've repinned a bunch of stuff because of brittle connectors, but I've always replaced the cracked connector with the same style new connector.

Great video! I bought my 92 Mustang used. Previous owner said he had a remanufactured world class T5 installed. What I see is the hex bolt of the non-WC, but the housing below the shifter says TREMEC, which bought Borg Warner in the 1990s, so I wonder if the rebuild shop just used whatever cases were at hand. Also, the gear ratios are of the non-WC (83-84 Fox Mustang). Well I am puzzled, but since the owner drove that tranny for 30,000 miles and burned out a new clutch in that time and the tranny still works fine, I guess it must be strong. Also reverse is not synchronized if that makes any difference on ID.

The factory Ac/ heater box lower floor mount is also the ac drain. I didn’t hear you say anything about that or make drain holes in your floor.

Clock the tab in the 1 o’clock position when installing the tail housing. Put a little grease on the tab and inside the tail housing where it sits. Might be a good idea to do a few practice fits dry before you put sealant incase you get stuck.

@@505speeds I just pulled mine apart and I was surprised to see that when removing the input shaft, I was expecting the rollers and a thrust bearing but I have a taper roller in place of that. What does this mean? The rest appears the same.

Awesome channel! Can you please give me some advice on my new to me WC T5? I'm having trouble shifting into 5th and reverse. It is very hard to get into gear. No strange noise, clutch is adjusted correctly. This transmission sat for several years without fluid. I just installed and started running it and I was told it might loosen up after running it for awhile. Is this valid advice. I'm running non synthetic ATF fluid. I appreciate any help you could provide. I don't want to tear it down unless necessary. Thanks

Two to make one. Two trannys keep the cluster with all the gears. I bet cluster looks bad on fourth. I swaped an input shaft on one that was low miles but bent. It was almost new cluster. No wine cause very low miles almost new parts. I have driven it scince 1985

I am fixin my wc t5 4cyl turbo version. Honestly i would rather have the nwc cause the parts are alot cheaper and my motor is less than 100 h.p. the input bearing retainer for mine is way high everone else can get a steel one for cheap. 1- 2 slider was cheap and reverse idler also. Syncros are expensive for wc. Which ones are the best to buy in your opinion thanks for the build videos.

18:20 The process of putting this on for me is very difficult. Can it be extremely tight sometimes? I hammer it with a socket and it is definitely going in but I am hitting very hard and it's taking a while is this a red flag 505speeds? I've seen other rebuilds and they mention that the newer T5s can be very tight to get that keys fork thing on. Also, is it a good idea to use a press instead? Very carefully ofcourse.
