Also, I went 100% raw back in 1999 but only stayed on it for 6 months. There weren't many resources back then, especially online. So I eventually became tired on doing something so rare and I was a bit lonely. BUT, those 6 months...I have NEVER felt better. I went from depressed and suicidal to bouncing off the walls with energy...I was so euphoric too. My eyes changed from dull green to a very bright blue. I remember getting TONS of compliments on my eyes and people were saying they didn't remember my eyes being that color. I lost 20 pounds even though I wasn't trying. I ate a big bowl of raw nuts and raw honey every single night, so I have no idea how I lost weight. I had raw oatmeal every morning. I made raw hummus and had seaweed wraps with carrots and cucumbers. I was feeling SO amazing. I am now trying to get back to it, but won't do 100% raw, even though it felt so good. I'll try to do 50% raw at LEAST. This morning I had a smoothie and last night I had a salad for dinner then fruit for dessert. The bags under my eyes are gone. (I've been doing this a week.) I wish I had done this my entire life. I'd be better off health-wise AND looks-wise. But starting now, at 45, is better than never. Then when I'm 65, I'll be able to say I'm glad I started 20 years ago. 😊

Wow funny you mentioned the eye colour, I've heard about that before (from Fully Raw Kristina) and wondered if it's happened to others. Being fully raw for 6 months is amazing. I can see it would have been lonely, now there's more that do it, plus the power of connection with the internet is awesome. Me too, I'm trying to get back to it, and I want to keep the momentum going even after summer's over. I try to do raw til 4pm, then a cooked vegan and gluten free meal for dinner. But sometimes I eat raw all day. I do feel amazing eating all raw too, but I find I get tempted, especially since nobody around is raw, not even vegan or gluten free. lol So the struggle is real every day.
@amysho2192
@amysho2192 Ай бұрын
@LiveLifeLori Yes, I love the Raw Til 4 way to eat also. It's cool because you get the health benefits of all that living food in the daytime, then in the evening you still are eating nutritious foods, but they are a bit more comforting and it's easier to eat together with other people. That's part of a healthy life too--community. I remember when my eyes changed colors, I realized it was the food that did it. I searched online to confirm my suspicion, and there was nobody else stating they had the same experience. But today if I search it, there are so many people claiming it also. You'd think that the medical community would be onto this and realize just how important good nutrition is for our health. I mean, actually seeing the different is quite an indicator. 🙂 Good luck as you attempt to get back to eating more raw foods. I will be doing the same! Hope to see more videos from you!

I haven't finished the video yet...but wanted to just comment something about cruciferous veggies. I don't have thyroid problems, but once I was I was on a diet, trying to loose weight and I remember I found out cauliflower was low calorie and filling so I started eating a LOT of cauliflower every day. I also was eating a lot of sauerkraut each day since it was almost zero calories. After about 3 days, I woke up and my face was SO puffy...I felt SO tired and slow. Then when I started to speak to my kid, my voice came out SO low and deep! And slow. It was insane. I was moving, talking and thinking in slow motion and very puffy...retaining a lot of fluid it seemed. I googled my symptoms and it said, "Hypothyroidism" was what I probably had. I googled the cause and it said that if you eat a lot of cruciferous veggies ,you might get hypothyroidism! Well, I had basically been surviving on cruciferous veggies (the cauliflower and the sauerkrat/cabbage). So I read what you could do and it said to avoid those cruciferous veggies (obviously) and to take in iodine. I looked up what foods had iodine and seaweed was a big one. I was SO shocked because I had just been craving seaweed and had bought myself a big box of seaweed snacks the day before...but hadn't eaten any yet. Our bodies are so cool and it's so helpful to listen to them. It's frustrating and sad that our healthcare system is only based on pills. Most doctors are completely ignorant when it comes to foods that heal or harm, as well as herbs. It's all based on money. One time I had a doctor who told me I had an anxiety problem. He wanted to put me on anti-anxiety medication. I said no and asked if there were any natural things I could do or take instead. His answer was simply, "No." I got home and did a Google search and...I found TONS of herbs and foods and even read about how exercise and yoga, etc helps people with anxiety. I know it's normal for doctors to not be educated on these things, but to straight up tell me "No" when asked if there was anything else I could do besides meds is wild. My next doctor was amazing. He made sure I was exercising, meditating, praying, having time alone, etc at every single visit! And the doctor after that told me about relaxing herbs, including one I had never heard of. He helped me get off the anxiety medication. Anyhow, I truly believe in the power of food and natural herbs. Pharmaceutical companies just try to find healing properties in nature so they can mess with it, make it dangerous, bottle it up and profit off it. 🙁 I mean, I'm not against all medication, some is probably necessary and life-saving, however I think there are a LOT of illnesses that could be prevented and/or treated with healthy, natural foods and herbs. Direct care providers are a start...but wish they could accept insurance.

Hey, that's so weird to hear about the low voice and puffy face from cruciferous veggies. I totally agree our bodies know what we need, and we need to listen to it more often. Also crazy that your doctor didn't even entertain any other alternative therapies for anxiety, besides pill. Like you said, that's all they know, and it's all about money. Very sad. Congrats to getting off your anxiety pills, how awesome is that?!

Hey can you write down the dose you took? I am not native speaker but .15 is totally unknown for me. I take right now 150 mg and just wanted to know if your dose was also the full amount for a complete disfunctional Thyroid. Right now I am very hopeless that my tissue will produce any hormone again.
@LiveLifeLori
@LiveLifeLori Ай бұрын
Hi there, I don't have the pills anymore to check for sure, as I've been off pills for 3yrs, but thinking it's 150mg, as I remember 15... My doctor told me I had a high dose and would never be off the pills. So likely was the same as you. I'd say try eating 1-2 raw vegan meals a day and see how you feel. I also eat 2 brazil nuts a day for selenium, and eat nori sheets (in veggie sushi) once every few weeks. I also gave up caffeine, alcohol and reduced my toxins in home and beauty products. It's worth a shot to try to heal yourself, you just never know. Sending you good healing vibes. Eat a wide variety of fruit and raw veggies & ditch gluten (and meat, dairy, eggs). Good luck!!

Thanks for the update! I have heard that it isn’t the gluten that’s the problem, but that it’s the glyphosate (Round-Up) used in the processing of wheat flour (and maybe other grains) that is the problem! Pure poison. I have hypothyroidism but not Hashimotos. Still trying to improve my TSH, T3 & T4 through a WFPB mostly raw, 95% vegan diet. (Occasionally butter or cheese happens when I travel.) Keep up the good work and thank you for your videos. They’re encouraging!

Thanks so much! Yes, I absolutely agree. I've heard people who can't handle wheat in north america, can eat it overseas no problem as they don't use that glyphosate on their wheat. Wish they didn't put so much crap in our foods. Keep eating high raw, since there's no negatives about that (that I know of). Good luck to you and your healing journey.

Wonderful! Thanks for sharing!!! Did you test positive for Hashimotos? I don’t have the antibodies, but I have hypothyroidism. I eat mostly raw and have been for a year and a half. My TSH, T3 & T4 are still not normal. I wish I knew why! I exercise, get sun, take iodine, vitamin D, B12, B complex (methylated due to MYHFR). I usually get enough sleep & I don’t wake up feeling tired. My energy varies, but is much better. I do have days when my battery is very low, though. I wish I knew why! Any suggestions, anyone? Thank you!

Congratulations! This is a great testimony! My sister has to take the thyroid pills. I think her thyroid is actually gone. She's had a lot of health issues over the years. She is eating mostly vegan and some raw. At the end of your video you said all fruit is raw which is a mistake. Anything canned has been heated so things like canned peaches or canned pineapple would be cooked. You probably know this but didn't think about it at the time you were recording this video. You are such an inspiration! Keep up the great videos!

Thank you so much for you comment :) Yes, you're right, I completely forgot about canned fruit - as I never buy them - but yes, very good point. That's great your sister is eating mostly vegan and some raw. I think it makes a huge difference. After this original video, I did an update video, where I had started eating a little gluten, and less raw (over the winter), and my thyroid levels were heading towards needing pills again soon. So....goes to show, that food either feeds disease or prevents it. I'm back to high raw again and feeling awesome and still off pills, been almost 3 yrs now :)
