Yea, this history of Pendleton Woolen Mills is pretty bad. Someone who has done any real research knows that the company was started in 1894 by Edwin Y. Judd in the town of Pendleton, Oregon. Judd was the son of a Connecticut wool mogul, who sent him around the world to pick up blanket designs. One can see PWM's Middle Eastern and Japanese designs in turn of the 20th Century photos by Pendleton photographer Lee Moorhouse. The Bishop Brothers bought the mill in 1909 and just omitted Judd's earlier company from their history.

I've been fighting with Pendleton reps for years...they appropriate native designs, but rarely have women's wear larger than XL. Most indigenous women I know are XXL or larger...so the disconnect is there.😅

Would look better with all shirts facing straight up/normally, but their idea is that they want you to look at the Pendleton logo first and shirts second. As a plaid shirt/Board Shirt fan, I'm more interested in the different shirt designs though.

The Pendleton tartan patterns used in their shirts are so unique and simply gorgeous! I have four of their board shirts and get compliments all the time. I think they are constructed in Mexico now (which is fine), but the wool fabric is still made in the US using locally sourced wool.

WTH? You never even mentioned Pendleton, OR the town named for the woolen mill that is next to the reservation where many designs come from and..here is a bit of the promo they have online...Made in Oregon, USA - we mean it. From sheep grazing the green Cascade Mountain range meadows to the finishing touches of each blanket - every step of the WE WALK TOGETHER blanket is made right here in America....but it is not true since the late 1990's!! -- Pendleton Woolen Mills is closing its Sellwood clothing factory and moving the work to Mexico, where labor costs are lower. The closure begins Friday and the last of 119 workers will leave the 40-year-old factory Sept. 27, the family-owned company announced.Aug 16, 1996

My mother was a collector of your blankets, in turn with her passing I was left one out of the four she had and absolutely love it! Part memory and after watching this video part apprection of the blanket and family that goes to great lengths to provide such an item. I understand know why my mother loved them so very much. My understanding is that only within the past 20 years that they began working with native artists.. it is my personal ignorance that I never knew that it wasn’t Native owned. I think it’s time that Native people design and make this merchandise on their own and start the company!

Hey, why don't you guys sell the JanSport x Pendleton x Benny Gold line of backpacks anymore? I mean they looked so incredible and not available anywhere to buy anymore. Can you bring them back? I'd be willing to pay extra for them if you would and I'm sure others would too.

Alright... I just don't understand why though. I mean, business wise I think it would be smart considering that specific line of JanSport x Pendleton x Benny Gold backpacks sold out very fast and at a pretty high price as well. Does it cost you guys more to mass produce them? Is that why? If that's not the reason, I don't see why you guys wouldn't want to bring back backpacks that look that incredible back into your collection and make profit while doing it as well. Don’t you guys want quality over quantity? I’m sure a good majority of your consumers would like to wear something snazzy and unique. I don’t know, it’s just a suggestion, but I really think you guys should bring those backpacks back, they were truly one of a kind.

I bought one of these batik blankets at the Pendleton store near my home. It's so beautiful and I love it. However, after doing some research about the blanket it was reported that each blanket should be numbered and signed but I don't see that anywhere on my blanket. Is it possible that it's a mistake?
