Do you press the lever once to click it into the tyre and then once again to take off or do you keeo jolding down the lever while its filling itnio cos ive seen videos of people do both and no one explains what youre supposed to do with that

Great video, thank you so much! I have so much anxiety about doing this and have been putting it off for years. But I really need to learn to do it myself, so here goes. Thank you again, especially the tip about pumping up the spare tyre too, I would never have thought to do that.

This is the third video I have watched with incredibly bad advice. You DO NOT Inflate your tires to the maximum pressure listed on the side wall... you go with the recommended pressure by the manufacturer of the vehicle for the given tire size. It should be listed in the manual or on the door sticker.

This just ridiculous. But what do you expect from a penal colony?

Safety first. Don’t attempt if the car isn’t on flat level hard packed ground or the car is in a location where it could be hit by another vehicle. Wear gloves. It is much safer to call for help than to change a tire yourself.

I rarely have spider's inside the car. BUT OUTSIDE ? The tiny, almost invisable little bugger's, have smothered my car overnight. Door Mirrors are there head quarters, hidden inside behind the mirror, they 'll bridge any distance. wrapped arround the screen wiper's , door handles. Number Plates ,Bumper's etc. with the finest nets of webs. My house windows and doorways are the same, and --well, I gave up cleaning my Conservatory. But I'll try that tip with the door Mirrors, if I can buy it in the UK that is. Theres' splenty of deterent sprays for flying insects, and even spider's, BUT will it damage the cars paintwork? No-one will say.

Good video. These machines are often faulty though - often doesn't take payment properly; or the hose doesn't connect properly to the valve meaning the air leaks as you try to inflate - this can often mean standing at awkward angles pushing it on with your hands to get enough air in!

They’re actually not designed to fit in a metal plate. They’re made to sit in plastic clips and a private company designed the metal frames. Please stop trying to get people to waste more money

As others have flagged, driving experience definitely doesn’t equate to car care experience and bridging the gap is a real confidence booster! If you were to update this video, I would have found a few additions useful (1)a close up when you actually connect the pump as I couldn’t see how it looks when connected; (2)a very brief but pointed explanation of WHY it matters (you say it’s particularly important when it’s going to rain but why is that? Those of us not checking our tyre pressure probably don’t know why it matters); (3)as someone else already suggested, how to interpret your car’s chart and personal car load (with a close up of a chart). I’ll go see if I can do this now ...

I would say use a ring spanner or socket on the sump bolt or any for that matter as a shifter moves more and are more likely to round the bolt/ nut head :)
