Maybe not - watched him during the playoff's in GR and he has been to the big league, he might be happy to prove himself in less competitive situations on the 3rd and 4th with some PP time, I think given everything his deal is short term to give him an opportunity to prove himself in the NHL, then he will want $$ or a trade.

Lalonde showed no signs of knowing how to use Kane last year. Had him playing vast majority of the year w Compher centering him, worst center for him on the roster. Also didn't use him w opponent net empty - Kane is the best opponent net empty player I've ever seen at wing, top 16 all time in empty netters. Kane loves it in Detroit but I think Lalonde's lineups and usage (other than power play where I think they did right by him all year) were likely a serious hindrance to him returning. His change in tone late in the year where suddenly he sounded like he was leaving was right after the lineup change end of the year where they even took DeBrincat away. He was not happy.

I disagree. Jimmy D was in the conference finals after 5 years. NHL was different back then, but the team went from 2nd worst in the NHL to 7 wins from a Stanley Cup in only 5 years. I’m just trying to say that we are being very generous with our patience

I think he’s really good. I don’t understand why the Wings won’t play him. I’ve heard he’s asked to be traded. Can’t say I blame him. He should not be wasted in the minors. Maybe by here to stay, you mean in the NHL. It won’t be with the Wings if they can’t see his potential and play him. They also think Larkin is a first line center (I like Larkin, he’s good but should be second line. They’ll need someone better to win. Before you speak, remember Fedorov was second line, and Fedorov was a much better player than Larkin). My point is Wings management has some strange ideas sometimes.

5v5 p/60 Petry 1.15, Ghost 1.07, Seider .98, xGF/60 Petry 2.32, Ghost 2.28, Seider 2.28. OZ start % Ghost 54.45, Petry 44.3, Seider 33.8. Ghost is just a sheltered PP merchant. You put Seider or Gus on the top PP unit I think they easily match the 56 points Ghost got this year. Seider had 50 points his rookie year on a far worse team.

Honestly Detroit needs to trade for a rh def there is no one on the team or ahl that can play second line rh def this year. I’m ok with Gus. I’m ok with edvisson and even maybe Johannsen. I’m ok with Petry on the 3rd line. That second line rh tho is completely missing.

@Red_Wings_Rant I think he's a little better defensively, a little worse offensively than Ghost. But Ghost was one of the most sheltered Dmen in the league last year. If Ed and Gus can come in and have the 2nd and 3rd pairs take just a little defensive responsibility from Mo, it could pay huge dividens. And then it just comes down to whomever gets PP1. But I don't think either of them getting 56 points is this unrealistic number.

@@jennifermorris9985 honestly looking at the blue line this year it does seem like some goals are going to be lost. But that being said tarasenko could get some of those back. Talbot has a better chance than husso to keep pucks out of the net. Especially early season. I think overall the goals for to against ratio will be similar or better.

They didn't ask because Steve made it clear he was talking about why he thinks Debrincat specifically will score more than last year, since his personal shooting percentage was lower than his average. Since Steve was talking about Debrincat specifically, the shooting percentage of the rest of the team was irrelevant.

Would be nice to have a RD. We have 2 RD and 6 LD, it would be nice to move one goaltender and 1 defensemen. They dont have much flexibility at all unless they move out some contracts. They have around 20 mil cap space to sign Seider, Raymond, Valeno, and Bergrenn. So there isnt a lot of wiggle room or a big move left with how much money we have left.
