Thank you and thanks for watching. All I did was make sure they were clean, masked off the timber to make sure there was no overspray and then used a spray paint specific to metal, if you go to any hardware store, they would be able to advise you on a suitable paint. If these were already painted, you would want to scuff the surface and remove any loose or flaking paint before your top coat. Any rust can be sanded out or treated using rust converters, and a hardware store would also be able to advise on a suitable product. Hope that helps, good luck.

Thank you for doing the video of this. Do you have the model of what jointer that is? I’m about to try and get running I think the same jointer but I’m missing the tensioner spring for the blade guard and didn’t know if you could do a short video or any recommendations where to get one specifically for the 30289 6” Jointer by Central Machinery I have. I’m trying to get a shop going all I need is a bandsaw and to fix the jointer. Thanks again Good job

Hi CT, the model is a Toolex WJ-150 6" Jointer. I'm sure it's sold under a few different names depending on your region, if you can find a manual online, that might help with the part you're after, hope this helps and thanks for watching, appreciate it, cheers!🙂

Hey, thank you so much for being such a good teacher. I just got the drop box because our USPS driver just drops our boxes at the end or our gate…not protected. If we don’t have a car parked hear the gate for her to (unsolicited) put in in the car our packages will be ruined either by our dogs or weather. Thanks “Hanging Out.”

Must be rather unlucky but I've had 3x from brand new & all became faulty after a few hours of operation, which utterly sucks because it really made a good impression on the first try. Whats annoying, that it was all soft wood (dry pine) & with not much to remove - what is wrong with the batch they sold in france? 😞

Hey, what size drill bits did you use to drill the holes in the slab for the Ankascrews? and how deep? Thanks
@hangingoutwithhally7463
@hangingoutwithhally7463 8 ай бұрын
Howdy, they were 8mm Ankascrews, so the drill bit size was 8mm, (that's how they are designed). This concrete pad was fairly thin, so I ended up drilling completely through, but I'd recommend drilling 10mm more than the embedment depth so if any dust gets caught in the bottom of the hole it won't stop the screw going in, make sure to blow out the hole before using the screws. Hope that helps and thanks for stopping by to check it out, appreciate it 😀

Great job Hally. Just curious though, did you look at arranging angle iron so you could weld mesh inside trailer. So mesh could push against structure of frame, to help integrity of cage if fully loaded.

Howdy, thanks for watching, very much appreciated. I did think about that and the main reason for going the way I did was to make a smoother side on the inside, so hopefully pulling brush and things like that out would be easier. Whether it makes a lot of difference or not I don't know, but the stronger way to go would be to flip it around. Cheers. 😀

probably very little chance you will see this but I have some questions. I have a similar planer made by Tanner Machines about 60 years ago. It's in working order apart from a 100mm crack under the front runner for the output plate. Since its made of cast iron I don't know how to fix it. If you still have the planer in this video could you tell me some of the dimensions as I am considering finding another base and using my feed and output plate. I just don't know if its possible. Or any other suggestions would be amazing.
@hangingoutwithhally7463

Hi there, thanks for watching, very much appreciated. I'll get some dimensions for you that might help, in the meantime, my best suggestion is take the cracked part to a machine shop that can do brazed repairs of cast iron and ask them to quote the repair. These repairs will usually be at least as strong as the original cast iron and if it's more or less in tact, just cracked, then they should be able to do a near perfect repair. Hope that helps. Cheers! 😀
@CaptainKokomoGaming
@CaptainKokomoGaming Жыл бұрын
@@hangingoutwithhally7463 I appreciate you getting back to me mate. I have been looking around and finding a replacement base is going to be a challenge. I might do what you suggest and see if it can be brazed back together. The crack has split the iron. Sounds like brazing will hold it closed and any deviation of the runner could be corrected relatively easily. Thanks for the info again. You have inspired me to try and get it fully restored to almost brand new condition.

Great video. I have a kubota 17-u. Ran out of fuel yesterday. Now it won’t stay on . Coughing and spluttering. The self air bleeding mustn’t be working properly. The engine sometimes starts then dies in seconds. Any ideas.?
@hangingoutwithhally7463
@hangingoutwithhally7463 Жыл бұрын
Hi there, thanks for watching and the question. The only suggestion I have is to follow the fuel system along and crack each connection you can to help bleed the air out. Sometimes, you can get a temporary inline fuel pump if you have a spare lying around to take load off the starter motor. Good Luck 😀
