Hello, I just purchased on eBay the projector that your are showing. For some reason the left reel (taking the film) does not move to 'catch' the film coming out. Is there any setting or swith that you know of that I am failing to see to make this reel move?
@davidk41459 күн бұрын
When you turn the dial to 'Forward' does the left reel turn at all? It should turn automatically when you turn the dial to 'Forward'. See the video at 4:10. One thing to make sure is that you haven't accidently turned it to 'Still'. That is easy to do and the left reel will not turn if you are on 'Still'.

I had one as a kid at like 7 or 8 years old...have not seen it since than and have searched the internet for years looking for an image not knowing the name. Found the name on the Video Game Console Library and found this video. Talk about a great memory!!! Awesome, thank you so much for taking me back...never could really figure out that game you are playing but I did have fun with it!

As far as that little thing you put the wire around if you push that center stud in on that reel it should lift it up to then pinch it but just enough to play it should slip out after rewinding

At 10:05 in the video it shows how to use the focus control. Have you tried that? If so what happens when you slowly turn it.

Hey David. Your repairs helped me get the seized up motor spinning and it’s playing the disc. But there’s no audio. Before I got the motor working it was making an audible beep. But no voice or anything while disc is spinning. And recommendations?
@davidk4145Ай бұрын
Did you watch the video at around 10:14? Does your yellow arm move across the record and does it have a small stylus that looks like the tip of a pin (you see it at 10:21)?
@davidk4145Ай бұрын
Another thought. Does your speaker piece have a spring that’s holding the yellow stylus arm against the disc?
@mattlajoie5592Ай бұрын
I see the spring on the speaker pushing the stylus down. I didn’t take out the stylus and inspect the needle. It worked intermittently for a short moment but was slow like the batteries were drained. I put fresh batteries in and still getting no sound. Is there a fix to find a replacement for that gold looking disc with two wires that’s attached to the speaker housing?
@davidk4145Ай бұрын
@@mattlajoie5592 The truth is I’m not 100% sure what that disk does. I thought it produced a buzzing noise that you sometimes hear if you leave a record in for a while without using it. But I’m actually not positive. Here is a link for a possible replacement disk though I’m not positive it’s exactly the same so you’d be taking your chances.www.sparkfun.com/products/10293

I just found the exact one on the side of road with a sign "free, works". It's just really kind of cool. It came with a bench and the the music book inside. The music book is designed so that anyone can play with out reading music. It's play by number. It's really cool. From the 60s.

That’s a real cool device! To think that recording hasn’t been heard in quite possibly 50 years or more. I would guess once something better came along such as the cassette they probably threw it in a drawer and was forgotten about. Makes you wonder where that child is now. Hopefully alive and well. I’m really impressed with your channel now, I’ll keep an eye out for your videos from here on out.

Thanks so much for the positive comments. I love vintage electronics but they also show the passing of time and how quickly things change (and how that 5 year old child is now likely 55!).

A few minutes of research on the Internet, and perhaps viewing some videos by Shango66 could help you in identifying the resistors on the bottom of that radio set. Since that is a Heathkit radio, it probably was built by a hobiest from a kit. My guess would be that a pilot light was in that hole, or the hole was left for that just a guess of course.
