As a first time synth buyer I bought a Jupiter X cause I got it for $1800 and at first I didn’t not like the UI and everything felt hard to navigate but I’m learning and the thing is just packed with potential but the learning curve is definitely something to look out for

My JX8p previously belonged to my mentor. He had gotten it from his own best student (who I won’t lie and say was me). It was not the first analog synthesizer I played (that being an ARP Axxe MkI), but it was the first analogue polyphonic I played. Starting in 1999 when I first met that guy, I would have him lend the 8p to me so I could spend hours upon hours trying to create sound of my own with the programmer. I wish I’d had an M64c cartridge on which to save any of them.

These synths have microtonal tunings in the alt tunings section. My question is if you set the synth's tuning to a microtonal tuning like 31 tone equal temperament (which is standard on these synths) will the filter now be tuned to microtonal steps or is it always in 12 tone equal temperament?

Nice performance 🔥 Is there an HOLD key fonction on the Juno X as on the JUNO 60 ? I’m not talking about ARP hold but just about a classic HOLD fonction. Thanks a lot !!!!!

I try to use the MX-1 in external mixing mode (EHE), it's working as expected. But the beat fx isn't working any longer in this mode. Are there any experience out there, regarding to BFX in EHE mode?

System 8 was my first big hardware synth and I loved it and love hearing it again here. Eventually, feeling it was mostly serving as a nice controller, owning the plugout plugins, I put it towards a Moog One to cover all my polyphonic synth needs and now thinking of a sub 37 to cover more traditional cutting mono/duophonic leads and bass tone.

How do you like the new Gaia 2 ?
@MRTUNA20 күн бұрын
Ive been using it more and more. I dont ever really use the sh-101 plugout because its so redundant in my studio but the gaia engine is really interesting and the wavetable stuff sounds unlike a lot of the roland gear thats been coming out the last 20 years. Im pretty into so far but it can be tricky to tame sometimes!

@MRTUNA20 күн бұрын
As someone who has both I think its extreeeemely redundant but i still find lots of use for them! they are exactly the same sounds ------ but the juno is more portable and learned a lot of lessons from the jupiter. the jupiter is just so big and bad i cant help but say its the one for me

Mr Tuna I have a question: is there a way to compensate for the zoom / translation that happens in each loop of the feedback? So that the overall size, position and orientation remain fixed ?
@MRTUNA24 күн бұрын
Maybe I know what you mean here, but do you mean so that the feedback loops onto itself ? It’s definitely doable just using the zoom on the camera to match it correctly, sometimes it’s hard to get a perfect match tho and my tripods got to be ***dead*** straight
