Yeah, I'm having a similar issue w/ the newer model. Of course it doesn't have the red ring any longer. But, it does start up and display the charging animation, before shutting down. I assumed, right away, that it was a charger related issue.

I rebuilt my pack without soldering with some creative bending of the tabs between the cell ends and some tight taping and she works so far really well

Just replaced mine via eBay. Found the complete replacement pack (w/ circuit board), new, for about half of what was estimated. But ya, was good to see that it wasn’t simply just 3 batteries connected in series. Am glad to have our decade old Big JamBox back in action.

They are refreshing and they do provide relief when you're hot but yeah...30 degrees is a stretch, they get cooler again if you flap them for 10 or so secs

This is a terribly unsafe demonstration and a rudimentary understanding of the purpose behind NEC requirements for pool bonding and grounding. If used, this demonstration provides no proof of ground or bonding and will lead the home/business owner to believe their pool meets lawful requirements while no ground could actually be present. This video should be removed.

But what about the humidity from that dryer pumping all that dampness through that stocking. I've tried this and it is horrendous and will cause mould growth etc. It should always be vented outside.

You have no idea how to conduct a proper experiment. And measuring the temp of the green board is NOT "ambient" temperature. Ambient temp is the air temp, which usually differs from walls and surfaces in the room.

Is there any plastic pipe between the pump and the water fill? Shouldn't the pump be bonded directly ( maybe it is) into this circuit? Should this test have been performed at the pump as the beginning of your continuity test?

i cringe every time i hear him say "ground". this is a complete waste of time. bonding and grounding are two very separate and very distinct tasks. this guy is "checking" the actual electricians. hilarious. they should check if he emptied the trash properly. read the heading "verification was needed" .
