A bit of trivia: when Walter Brennan was born. he was already 47 years old!😄 (Think about it. There are no images of a young W.B., are there? And even in his old movies he always played a grizzled character.) I'm tellin' you, Walter Brennan was born 47 years old.

As time went on, we told in verse, Of the search for Will's lost son, And in time the verse got worse As Will and Jeff sought for that son! In time, the towns built high walls To keep out Grandson and me. They cried from the ramparts "You Sonnets depart! Your poetry's so bad that we plea For our ears and our children Don't come around here again!"

@Tuberesu 10 hours ago (edited) We searched for a man named Jim Sonnet In towns, throughout trails and prairie. When we heard of a trail, we were on it, Jim's son and his dad, that's me. But always we missed him by hours, Fate seemed to blame for keep missing, My son who a minute ago had just gone, Then a barkeep, not scared like them others, Said "Will there's a secret why Jim, Pushes off when he hears you near, It's your damned awful verses he's hearing, He can't stand 'em assaulting his ear!

I always wondered if they found James. Me and my husband watched the series together but he became ill and we never got back to watching the show again that's been many moons ago. And now he is in heaven so I am finally watching by myself. It would have been nice if he could have seen it with me but maybe he's watching down here tonight and knows what happened in the end. Anyway I would like to believe so. We always loved watching together. ❤❤

I was a really little kid (6 or so) when this series premiered. I wasn't that interested in Westerns at that age, but for some reason I always made sure to watch The Guns of Will Sonnett. Remembered the opening sequence to this day. Am thrilled at age 63 to find it here. Thank you!

J.D. Cannon was very convincing in his role. I always thought he was an under-rated & under-appreciated actor!! Probably because he also chose to play the decent character in a film!! Hollywood doesn't seem to value that type!!
