Are there any benefits to leaving some flowers on a portion of my giant sage bush... in order to attract more bees to my large vegetable garden?

What do you do with the stuff that You’ve chopped off the plant
@CGoody56414 сағат бұрын
Let it degrade into the soil to provide further nutrients for everything else. Or compost it.

Can this be sprayed on the trees during the fruit stage?
@SustainableStace3 күн бұрын
nope - it's meant to address the pests that OVERWINTER in the bark / wood of the tree. So, once the tree is in leaf and the flowers (and beyond stages) are in play - you're going to be dealing mostly with flying insects which need a different response.

The problem is that it has to coag the actual insects when it's wet, once it dries, there is no residual lasting protection. So for infestations of flying leaf eating insects, good luck.
@SustainableStace11 күн бұрын
Correct - this is a ONE TIME approach to overwintering insects living in wood, bark, nooks and crannies of the tree.

I feel for you. Both of my dogs and my cat lived to be 18 and 19 years of age. They gave me and my children and grandchild unconditional love and we in turn loved them. I was convinced that I couldn’t bring myself to get another dog (two more puppies later) and after our beloved 19 year old cat Dory passed away the year after our severe bushfires I was never getting another cat (yep you guessed it there’s been another new addition) The joy our fur family gave us over their years of life meant we felt the terrible loneliness and hole in our lives they left as they headed over the rainbow. Life is for sharing, loving and caring and fur family brings you this in a bounty. A cyber hug for you as you travel this road. Cheers Theresa - Australia

Actually it’s more common than you think wild cats will avoid the stuff because it hinders their ability to survive getting high is something that only top predators will do like tigers and humans and even with tigers it’s rare because they need to hunt to survive

@SustainableStace11 күн бұрын
hmm - our quince has been no fuss and highly productive from the outset. This seems strange. I'm very curious. Lotsa questions! how healthy does your tree appear otherwise? full sun exposure? any nearby competing trees ? how much have you pruned it?

@@SustainableStace Full sun all day! No competing plants. And it hasn't been pruned in ten years .

I never actually never had any luck with chives. Maybe because I am growing, I am chives in big pots or i over water or under water. I gave up on chives, i rather just grow green onions or bunching onions. I don't like plany chives in the grown because the gophers have eat some of my plants. I rather grow in plastic totes or pots.

@SustainableStace11 күн бұрын
sorry for the confusion. brush clean, keep dry, ventilated and in the dark typical seed storage really yes, it shows what effort went into peoples' food storage (esp. in colder climates) before warehouses, factories, world wide imports etc did all the work for us behind the scenes.

The cat I have that likes catnip prefers it dry. Others I have had love it both dry and fresh. One out of a dozen cats in my life has not been interested at all.

I just lay it out on a dish to dry, leaf by leaf. If I had a branch I'd dry it in a basket. Fluff daily until dry.
