eish I found this helpful I have been straggling with hair loss since 2011 its 13 years and its as what happened to you did my hair 2011 for my Farwell boring when taking it off a chunk of my hair gone on my case was transparent went bold and the was a scare the in the middle of my head and every time removed my it grow bigger now i fell like i can not go any where with out covering my had i am always bradding my hair now i know what to do first i have to book the appointment with the dermatologist i have been search for the one i can use now i have hope thank you for giving hope

lol Oh my gosh... my mom had this and by then we didn't know what the cause of it was. Lol I remember how confused and frustrated she was because she always had good, strong healthy hair. However moghel refused to go to any salons and so I was forced to be her hairstylist. We mostly did braids to cover up the patch. But also with that, we treated the patch with some black castor oil. Slowly but surely the hair grew back. If I'm not mistaken, must've been 11/12 months.

Thank you for sharing I really enjoyed it. Im going to watch part 2. Gel has never agreed with my hair at all. Even if I wet it real well the next day to try to comb it or pull it apart it's a mess gel isn't my bag. It's stiff & hard. Plus I don't like that hardening felling on my hair. I have to use a heavy grease or a cream to lay it down as best as it can & it does the job no gel for me.

So glad I watched this. I consulted a Dermatologist in 2012/13 and she said I have alopecia, she prescribed minoxidil which seemed to work for a month but then it stopped. The Dr I saw never gave this insightful information I’m hearing here. I then decided to stop trying anything to regrow my hair. I lost an entire Hope that the hair will ever grow, so I decided to go bald. I love the bald look. I feel beautiful. But recently I’ve been having the desire to grow my hair. So thank you. I hope it’s not too late, I will go see a Dermatologist and get a proper diagnosis.

Funny enough , alopecia is also found in men.

Hi Gail. i can relate to your story, in fact that is my story. After experiencing the hair loss from this long dread that was growing soo well, to becoming what you call ....."tomato shinny" patch ..... like you, i had to do certain hairstyle that covers, but then the itching at that part....yhooo, i could rip that pondo apart. I opened up to my sister, and i was in shock when she confirmed that its a family condition. I thought my sister was one of those bold women with bald hairstyle. My mum was those old fashioned Makoti always with a Duku and 60's wigs. I went through this process, for free, no chemicals, no consultation with the dermatologist and my hair grew back again. If you want to know, start a talk show, i will be your guest. khwaaaahh

I'm so mad at the hairstylist because he should have known that using styling gel damages hair, worse if you keep it longer. The normal styling get U shouldn't keep it for over 2 days. I'm so sorry Gail.
