I certainly agree 110% that this is a horrible end result for this child. However, I take very strong objection to this police chief providing such a resounding condemnation of this mother, especially because it's clearly a very ongoing investigation. I didn't catch how long it has been since the child died. It would certainly seem to have been very very recent. We do still live in a society that professes that we're innocent until proven guilty. I'm astounded that this Chief of Police has ajudicated her as being guilty at this time.This is how innocent people end up being found guilty. The investigating body believes beyond a doubt that somebody is guilty and sticks with that theory until the end of time. Doing so is extremely counter to our judicial system. There's some very damning evidence that points to her, but based on the information that he has provided, her guilt certainly doesn't seem to be extremely cut and dried. Certainly not to the point that this police chief should be stating it literally to be a fact. He can certainly feel bad for this child, but declaring the guilty sentence to the mother is absolutely not acceptable at the stage. I hate to say it, but shame on him!
