Ireland was such a beautiful place. With an old fashion innocence. What is the EU doing to this outstanding place.

Great to listen to that band, many great days in Kilfinane when they played over many years in The Maple Ballroom and at Kilfinane Autumn Festivals, local man Sham (Seamus Hussey was the Tumpet player with the band in those days.

I dedicate this song to all the brave men and women who run into harms way to help people during times of crises. And those survivers of abuse, torture and trauma and those with PTSD still battling their invisible wounds, and may the people who never came home RIP ❤🧡💛💚💙💜

The lambs on the green hills, they sport and they play And many strawberries grow round the salt sea How sad is my heart when my love is away How many's the ships sails the ocean. The bride and bride's party to church they did go The bride she rode foremost, she bears the best show And I followed after with my heart full of woe To see my love wed to another The first place I saw her was in the church stand Gold rings on her fingers and her love by the hand Says I, my wee lassie, I will be by your side Although you are wed to another The next place I saw her was on the way home I ran on before her, not knowing where to roam Says I, ma wee lassie, I'll be the man Although you are wed to another Stop, stop, says the groomsman, and listen awhile Will you venture your life on the point of my sword For courting so slowly you've lost this fair maid So, begone for you'll never enjoy her O make now my grave, both large, wide and deep And sprinkle it over with flowers so sweet And lay me down in it to take my last sleep For that's the best way to forget her

Remember my mum and dad playing this song , it always struck a chord ,, such sad music , many years in the future nobody will remember it , that's what is so sad , as is the pleasing fact that nobody will remember Robbie Williams or Madonna

I believe this was the last song on his farewell program at Coven Garden. Can you imagine the emotion. People comment on the decline of the voice, but unlike many other artists, John always sang material that was just right for his voice at the time
