Welcome to America, we as citizens kept giving up freedoms to the government because people insisted on things being done or implemented by laws. When we do that, the government has to get bigger, and when it gets bigger, it insists on things in return. Don't take the law in your own hands but stop asking the government to implement things you want. Safety is largely found through common sense and due diligence, not just cameras and surveillance.
