What about just wrapping the pin with teflon tape? Have you tried that? I have some harder Teflon tape that has an adhesive side that I'm going to try. Adds .006" or .16mm to the diameter.

Aware this vid is 3 years old, but the reason it is initially runny is so it is thin enough to run into crevices, such as between panels that are spot welded together, where it will then cure.

Amazing car and amazing video! I'm planning on buying one, but having kids the question of rear seats usability really is bugging me, I can't get a 2 seater... You seem to be one of the few showing actual passengers in the rear seats! Could you please share additional details? How short does anyone sitting in the front be to leave some room for rear passengers? In that case, how tall can they be?

Silicone grease outside of sleeve and inside of bushing only. Torque properly. This is nuts.

@ 6:10 I can absolutely see how "spot on" it is. So...what to take away from this is how precisely your "bush" doesn't fit. If it were a worthy challenge I'd run 12 days of laps to test your PTFE(Teflon tape) against black polyurethane bushings or.....never mind. Who am I kidding? I'm waiting outside LOWE'S to get the jump on PTFE....that's what it's called right? Just wanna buy the right band-aid.

I'll let some in on a well kept secret.....if there's ANY articulation expected use spherical ends. Polyurethane has some give, but it's best for up and down movement. That's the lamest of terminology I can express. Delrin is a far better material, but it requires precision fitment to last and work as intended. It too only allows up and down movement. Any side loading and you're done before the checkered flag mate. Ok....that may be a bit harsh...

You still have to remove and re-grease them periodically, right? Some people say once year, some say every couple years, others say as much as every 5 years....

Hi Rick. Will the previous set up with eibachs work on highways and good roads? I'm living in Dubai where pot hole is science fiction, and would like to keep the lower look of the car. Actually, plan is to fit Koni sport front/STR rear along with pro-kit. Great video, indeed. Quite educating since I'm planing to the replacement on my own. Thanks !

I’m currently in the market for a series 4 and came across this video. Don’t know anything about them mechanically so trying to learn. As a kid of the 90s this is my favorite of the spiders: simple timeless design but modern and all that Italian romance.

I've owned my 2001 Firestorm for 16 years now, had to buy one after borrowing a friend's. The rear shock and fork springs have been upgraded and the engine has had the dreaded automatic cam chain tensioners replaced with manual versions and some fruity Yoshimura rs3 end cans. Love this bike.

Excellent guide. At 8:14 you mention a little overlap of ptfe tape on the stainless insert. I watched a video earlier where a guy in the U.S. gives a similar demonstration. He states no overlap on the stainless insert. I have no good reason to doubt either of you, but can you see it from a viewers point of view? Which option should I go with? I think his concern is that it may bunch up. I would think bunching would be more likely to happen with an exposed edge. I kind of answered my own question there. 😂 The video is titled "How to Fix Polyurethane Bushing Squeak Permanently." The segment starts around the two minute mark.
