One of the things I dislike about the Pilot House 25 is the raised foredeck. At my age I loved the bulkwarks and walk around to the windlass on my F-30, and the idea of scrambling on the cabin top while wrestling the anchor did not appeal. But low and behold... nice clear fore deck on the freeward ! Now that are circustances are reduced, I think the Freeward will likely suit us quite well.

She's beautiful. Reminds me of a 29ft Staniland I once owned.... sadly, it was too much work for me to keep her back then. Great seaboard and will stand some weather too..

Very nice! in USA...greed has taken hold of ALL clubs. It would cost well over 6k a yr just for mooring. Sad...it keeps people away from boating and allows what we all "rich classless rednecks" into our harbors.

Lovely couple, lovely boat, lovely video -- haven't been sailing in years, just bought a 12-foot fiberglass boat, very similar in hull shape, lapstrake as well, and I plan to do some of the things to mine that they've done to theirs. I want to teach my grandsons to sail (That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!) . . .

The construction and motion of the fishers are first rate. There are 3 versions of the 25. The pilot house versions are so expensive, that the bit extra you pay for a 30 is very well spent, the fishing version is a fine vessel, but the accomodations are horrid, impossible for old people, and the pilot house is so cramped a second person cannot be comfortable in it. The Freeward seems to sell for 1/3rd the cost of the Pilot house version. Brilliant !

Jarramas was a boat of king Karl XII, there have been three Swedish naval vessels with that name. It’s not a Swedish word but a Swedish derivation of a Turkish word meaning something like the naughty one. Source: a Swedish friend.

Love im. Reminds me of some of the old sailors my dad knew. Could read a sky, the sea the smell in their nostrils and would say what they were thinking. Brilliant stuff.

I'm an amateur boat builder so I can identify with everything you say. At the risk of sounding pretentious, I will even go deeper. Because of mass production and extreme technology, everything is done for us (regular humans). We don't grow are own food, build are own houses, or even make anything at all that we use in life. Instead we do stupid jobs that we hate to get this symbolic item called money to pay for our things. Our off times are spent just distracting ourselves with whatever, drinks, drugs, internet, telivision or whatever. (Famous Quote by T.S. Eliot, distracted by distraction by distraction.) When you build a boat, you reconnect with a primal but forgotten aspect of being human; that is, using your hands,( and your mind) to build things. That is what hands are for! (duh). But not a stupid thing like modern art, but a real thing that actually does something in the real world. If its succesful, then you get that feeling of accomplishment, which can't be faked or bought. And then you get to be put in the water, in Nature, away from the Matrix, and you must navigate by your own wits and skills. I could go on, but you get the picture.

Wow!... @00:59 Damn, you British sure know how to make perfect - just perfect - small ocean going sailboat. That might be the most perfect looking sailboat I have seen. In fact, just scale that up 20% keeping every angle and shape, and sell it to me. Simply a work of art...and you sold that? What were you thinking of..

To top it off, I suspect that the boat and trailer exceed the towing weight of that Land Rover, which is dangerous if he had to brake hard and would invalidate his insurance in the event of a crash. Just saying. 😑

The design of these gaff cutters is classically beautiful. Once I had a dream of sailing to the med and wanted a Heard 35 for so long, but it became an obsession that was sadly unattainable. Now I have contented myself with a narrowboat that I love to bits. Although all these years later I still fantasise about sitting on a faded teak deck above turquoise waters beneath a Roman sun.

Nice boat but that lower transom edge does drag underwater. Less drag if it was smaller or did not show up until it was a bit further aft and thus up out of the water.
