I saw this in theaters when it came out, and it is the only horror film that has ever managed to actually instill fear in me. I had nightmares for years after the closet scene. No film has ever managed to live up to this one in terms of fear factor. Truly a masterpiece.

I have never stopped buying cds and vinyl albums. I find it so important to look at the artistic photos that accompany the music. This side of buying music has been lost to the newer generation. It’s like missing out on the total experience of listening to a new album. I know I will not change the world, but I will support my favourite artists until it becomes impossible to buy physical music. When they stop selling albums on cds and vinyl, I have so much accumulated that I can satisfy my needs with what I have. ✌

I saw this film years ago, not too long after I parted ways with street life - gangs, criminals, drug dealers, hanging out smoking partying in abandoned apartments, and trying to fit into and be accepted by that world. Luckily I was able to find my own footing, and have a similar realization as Stevo, having a few friends go to jail for life, a few were murdered, a few overdosed. I knew I needed to change course. It's funny, most people who knew me from that time would hardly recognize me today, not just in dress/ fashion. Great film, I need to rewatch again soon.

I have over a 1000+ dvd's, but instead of keeping them in their original cases, I ended up buying one 750 cd/dvd flight case (as that's all I could find at the time) one that carries 1000 cd/dvds, and then I also got 2 brief case style cd/dvd cases metal boxes. The 2 flight boxes had double-sided folders to hold the disks in, The 2 brief case style carry cases had attached folders for the disks, I also have a couple of 250 disk cases with attached folders, all with dvds in, full of movies I loved watching over the years, then when Blockbuster closed down, I bulk bought some dvds from them, my physical media collection in movies is the biggest. My favourite tv series box sets are limited, and then I have over a 1000 music cd's in their own carry case, I felt it was the best way to keep my physical media in a small space, Where as before, I decided to do that with my dvds, the collection I have was from the floor to the roof high and from the living room window against the longest wall in my living to the back wall long in only dvds. I still have my Sega Mega Drive/Mega cd console and games, I recently introduced them to my nieces and nephew, who all thought it was a video player and a stereo but they loved playing micro machines and some of the other games, I keep telling people not to let thing's go digital, but then you hear them complain because they can't find their favourite movies/shows, etc, that they bought digital versions of, they preferred all their streaming services but they soon realised that if your internet goes down you can't watch any movies or their shows ,whilst those of us with physical media can still enjoy what we want to watch.

I adored this movie and I’m glad you brought up the end car scene. I’ve see that scene in particular criticized and as a major slasher fan, I thought it was one of the best discussions on why slashers scare people and gives a fun explanation to the mysticism of a slasher villain. They aren’t what real life serial killers, they’re how we rationalize those monsters to be before they’re revealed to be normal people with their own twisted reasons.

I don't think physical movies will ever totally die off. I think what you'll see is that as more and more people move to streaming, there will be a massive reduction in how many discs the major labels make, sort of similar to how vinyl/CDs are. They will raise the prices because they can. Most companies will stop making the players apart from boutiques so you'll have to shell out for new gear or buy used. I really would rather see it go the direction music did where you can buy stuff digitally without the DRM and be able to store it on a server or computer and watch it locally.

It's about recordable/burnable Blu-Rays in Japan. Movie discs aren't going anywhere as they are becoming like vynil (and/or they already have), games might go away but there's still so many areas downloads aren't viables so they'll stick around for a long time.

If they stop selling physical media, then that means certain countries won't have any way to watch films and TV shows. I live in Fiji, and we don't have Disney+, HBO Max, Paramount+, Hulu, and Peacock. There are so many titles we can't watch. Most of these streaming services don't allow VPN and won't let Netflix or Prime Video stream their content. Disney is notorious for that. Not a single Disney title is available on Netflix and Prime Video for our region. We have to scavenge pirated websites and download whatever we can. At least with DVDs and Blu-rays, you can import them.

I'm a fan of British and EU crime shows. 99% of those titles has no longer a physical release, or in best case a horrible dvd release with 6 hours video on a single dvd. Streaming services in my region don't have these shows. There's no longer an option to watch these shows in a legal or illegal way. So frustrating 😢

@@Extreme2SwaggerHD I will buy something through Apple, if the price is reasonable. Apple is the best quality of the cloud services and you can download the .m4v files and have them stored somewhere outside the app. I have done this a lot in the past and served up those files to an AppleTV on my local network. However, I would say the vast majority of things I have are torrents. Either I torrent a compressed file to watch something once or twice, then delete it, or I download a BD remux and burn my own Blu-ray. The Made In Mexico discs are garbage, full of scratches and fingerprints and I am often returning them. I don't really care that much about 4K either.

Great video! Out of these two, I've only seen D&D: Honor Among Thieves, and, yeah, it's decent. It's a fun flick, but it's also not really doing anything in the grand scheme of things, which is fine as it's obviously not trying to be. However, this limits it from being a great film for me. Still, it's fun, it has great performances, cool action, and a nice central adventure that remains entertaining throughout its runtime. As for a Scanner Darkly, this film is something I've heard of before, and is on my watchlist. Does seem quite interesting with its animation and story. Plus, like you, I also have a weird interest in Linklater.
