Hey Dylan! Gordon from TipTopVinyl here! Just wanted to say how much I am looking forward to this series. I happened to be in New Jersey just last week (Wildwood) and we did visit Atlantic City. My wife won big in a casino there, but our weather was a bit crappy. On our way there we also stayed in Philly for a night (sadly not enough record hunting time). I'm now living in Upstate NY so I hope one day I can take a trip to visit your record store! Would be an honor to meet you in person :D

I don't get how so many Zepp album reviewers cover Zeppelin 1 without mentioning the monster that is How Many More Times. The world had heard nothing like it to that point. It's like discussing Zeppelin IV without mentioning Stairway. Or Presence without bringing up Achilles. Just weird.

The original 70s UK versions on Pye had full picture sleeves and correct order of tracks as per the vinyl. This early sleeves look terrible and cheap.

Nice video! This shows me how much I miss my KISS-cassettes! Since I became a fan of the band in '78 and didn't have a turntable, I bought (or let me buy cassettes by my granny or sometimes my mother) the cassette versions, since I was only 10 years old (Ooops, now I have given away my age. ;-) ) at the time. I owned all the albums from the debut to "Lick It Up" on cassette, including the Best-Of's and Solo-Albums. Because I am located in Germany, my versions of the albums were the German releases. Now comes the sad part: The fact that I hardly listened to any other music than KISS at that time, the tapes itself were worn out by the end of the 80s. Since I had started to rebuy the KISS-albums on LP from "Animalize" on, I thought I don't need the damaged tapes anymore and so I thew them in the trash. Today I think that this was a huge mistake! I should have kept at least the J-cards and stored them in my clipping collection about the band, or, even better, framed them - but I didn't. When the remasters came out in '97/'98, I was buying them as CDs, but didn't care for the cassettes. Don't get me wrong, I like these CDs, but maybe I should have bought the cassette versions as well - just out of nostalgia. But on the other hand, who spends more money than they have to? I think, the answer is obvious: We KISS-fans! ;-) Have a nice weekend and keep the great videos coming! Greetings from Germany!

Hello Dylan ! My complete KISS collection on tape concists of one cassette only : Destroyer. The first I payed for all by myself. I still have it , although the insert is long gone. I bought it a couple of weeks after release. The physical record stores back then , here in Sweden , were never that well sorted when it came to cassettes. Cheers , bro !

How do you know what year each cassette is from? Also, how rare is the Universal Greatest Kiss cassette from around 1990?

You showed your cassette itself. Mine are all black. All the writing is a paper glue on the tape. I believe it's all the 70's ones. But Lick it Up,Animalyse and Asylum are paper too. 🤘KISS🤘

I was just wondering - do you know how many there limited too ?? Totally awsome boxsets - highly recomended , but its such a pity they arent numbered .

if you judge this album not as a "kiss member" album but as a pop /old school boogie release its pretty solid as a whole unfortunatly its too far from what people who bought kiss records could handle ,,afterall were talking rock and roll loving teenagers,,not their parents

I always thought it would have been a great idea for each members solo album cover to show their faces in half makeup half unmasked ,,like peter did on a later solo album it would have made a much more impactfull statement,,especially genes torment between the character and the man inside

I’d like to respectfully challenge you on a couple of comments that you have made. You say, Paul was the leader of the band at this time and led the musical direction of the band. Although Paul did have the ideal of Sergeant Pepper and magical mystery tour, one success, and one arguably a failure. It wasn’t Paul that wanted to get back to the basics on the white album. It was John’s idea, the fact that revolution 9 was included should prove my point. In the single revolution with this political message, Paul didn’t want to get into politics as the Beatles, but John did, so is John the leader of the band? Paul definitely was more pushy and aggressive in the recording studio, hence Ringo Starr walked out on the white album and George Harrison walked out on the let it be sessions. A leader of a band does not inspire that. It seems like the songs on the White album where the whole band was involved, like yer blues and happiness is a warm gun, John more than Paul invited the whole band to work together and create the songs. Paul Was more pushy, aggressive the studio, but John was the true leader of the band.

This attempt makes more sense than any other attempt I've ever seen! Even though I'd personally have had more John songs on the second side and got rid of some Paul songs. But very interesting

Can you do this For All Things Must Pass? The White Album is fine as it is, just fine. ATMP, however, is seriously bloated.

Lets build a new Beatles album, one to follow Abby Road. We can only use songs from each Beatles' solo work that was released upon or immediately after the break up. What songs do we have?
