After owning harley and kawasaki , I can honestly say, the harley is more linear in a straight line, the harley is stronger in the resale depth, the kawi is so much less expensive but the ecu is horrendous, jerky throttle, popping on deceleration, dead spots on low speed maneuvers, ivan reflash will solve this im told, I think both are good looking motorcycles, not a fan of v twins any longer, due to my age lol, went to a goldwing, it's all about comfort and quiet now!

Harley sucks, no debate. I have owned both and I can say I have spent money on the Kawa for tires and oil. Harley, frigging thousands for sprocket, springs, leaks, engine issue

Bro, no Harley coming close to a Kawasaki. It doesn’t really matter what Harley has to offer if there is no reliability and you got to around with the tool kit. Question is how much did Harley pay you 😅

I'd be very happy with any Livewire because even though they realistically can only travel 65 to 75 miles on a charge in the real world, I don't need to go over 60 miles on an outing. I'm more concerned with acceleration and the Del Mar has that in truck loads.

It would be better I think if it had belt final drive and cast wheels
@emadreviews
@emadreviews 3 күн бұрын
Generally not common to have belt on an adventure bike. Belt has the upside of no maintenance which is good for long distance cruising, but it is susceptible to rock/pebble damage on off road trails. As for cast wheels, on other more expensive European adventure bikes that come with cast wheels, you actually have to pay extra to get spoked wheels because spoked wheels are a bit more flexible and good for off roading. Cast wheels run the risk of cracking. Thanks for watching and ride safe!

As you said, the Shadow/VTX bikes, along with the Boulevards, Vulcans and V Stars, were obviously the Japanese companies trying to get in on the enormous demand for the classic American cruisers from H-D and Indian. But I think the Shadow evolved into its own thing. Water-cooled was unheard of on American bikes until Victory and the V-Rod came on the scene (as was durability, reliability and affordability), and I don't think any American brand has ever used shaft drive. I have an 04 Aero, and there's no denying that it's trying really hard to pretend it's a 1950's Indian, but I think the Phantom is definitely its own thing. Anyone who knows motorcycles even a little bit would never mistake it for a Harley or Indian. It's its own animal. All that having been said, I think the Shadow (in any trim) has earned the same iconic status as the Sportster. Oh, and as to whether a Shadow can be a tourer, I have an Aero. With the addition of a windscreen, it had no trouble chewing up a 432 mile, single-day ride for me recently. Comfortable and cruises happily all day long at 75MPH and will bop up to 85 no problem when necessary. The handlebars o the Phantom would probably make it more problematic for longer rides like that, however.

Honda forgot that a Kruiser requires a COMFORTABLE footrest position with an open knee angle! The footrests are ugly, stick out and positioned too far back, too uncomfortable! A knockout criterion!

So whats wrong with this bike? I have an electric mustang and love it. Iv always wanted a motorcycle and getting an electric one would be awesome. It being slow isnt a down side to me because my reason for not owning a motorcycle is i would be a danger to myself and others. This bike seems that wouldnt be the case.

Its overpriced, the range is terrible, and it can’t even go 60 mph. There is way better options for way less. This thing is too slow to go on the highway and too big to use on any bike paths. I want to like it but it sucks

I bought a Del Mar and love it. I use it to ride to my farm and back every day. My commute is 24 miles round trip, and this bike turns a boring daily commute into a blast. Range is not a problem - I can take the long way home and still have charge leftover. I plug it in to charge in my garage, and it’s ready to go the next day. Dig it.

Super good video! Great amount of information on the bike and the other trims. I didn't realise it was essentially only the forks that differ through the range.

In America it's not too popular but in the rest of the world is very popular. My personal opinion is that Piaggio needs to install bigger wheels like 14". I don't want to hear that they don't want to change the iconic status of the Vespa because they already did by making the Vespa with the automatic transmission and they already installed bigger wheels. This should be done for the American market because of the big roads/ highways.
