The Bajaj Freedom 125 is the world’s first CNG motorcycle, which makes it quite interesting to say the least. Unlike other 125ccc motorcycles in its segment, the Freedom 125 comes with a unique layout and features that pique our curiosity. We answer all the questions you may have about this motorcycle. How much does the Bajaj Freedom 125 cost? The Freedom 125 starts at Rs 95,000 for the base (Drum) variant, Rs 1.05 lakh (Drum LED) for the mid-spec variant and Rs 1.10 lakh for the top-spec (Disc LED) variant. Bookings have opened for the Freedom 125 at Bajaj dealerships across the country and on the company’s official website. What is the fuel capacity on the Freedom 125? It has a 2kg capacity for the CNG tank and a 2-litre petrol tank. The CNG tank is housed within the trellis frame of the bike and both tanks can be refuelled using a common flap located at the top of the fuel tank. How heavy is the Freedom 125? It has a total weight of 149kg, which is 18kg heavier than the Bajaj CT125X. Bajaj claims the CNG tank weighs 16kg when empty and 18kg when filled with gas. What are the dimensions of the Freedom 125? Bajaj’s CNG bike has a wheelbase of 1,340mm, which is 55mm more than the CT125X. It has the longest seat in the segment at 785mm and at its 825mm high seat is 15mm more than the CT125X’s. A ground clearance of 170mm should help it tackle the worst of our roads with reasonable ease. What engine does it get; fuel efficiency of the Freedom 125? The Freedom 125 is powered by an all-new air-cooled, 125cc single-cylinder ‘sloper’ engine. This bi-fuel capable engine produces 9.5hp at 8,000rpm and 9.7Nm at 6,000rpm. Bajaj claims an estimated range of 330km; 102km per kg when running on CNG and 65kpl when using petrol. We will be testing the Freedom 125 soon, so keep an eye out for our review.
