The loco creeps into view like a mysterious stranger in a western then after it has passed, the sound keeps going. Part two has it roaring in that inimitable class 37 style. Well captured.

My DI (driving instructor), said that they used to do it at Waterloo with a steam engine. Bit faster than this though and they didn't have the later metal block in front either of course.

Nice! The reason for the howling is usually because of something blocking the coolant air filter I think which causes the coolant fans to come on to try and cool the engine!

Part of that is a recognised move to the Wick side of the station to allow the 158 to arrive from Thurso and depart towards Inverness, there’s a special short section created for this move. Thanks for watching and commenting 😁

Probably a DRS train who were using that livery until quite recently.

Yep it’s a retro heritage livery by DRS, most of their remaining 37’s have them, there is BR Large Logo, Intercity (Mainline) or Regional Railways plus an older version of DRS own livery too !

@@RoyTheMouth I believe DRS are using their own livery now. They keep threatening to get rid of 37's but due to blue star buffer beam connections to power equipment, and Route availability 5, they may be using them for some time to come!
