LOVE this song. One of my favorite. I remember listening to this song with my dad. Trying to hit the high notes was always a challenge. Haha.

The tune is "First Day In Town." (Kenny Baker recorded it first, Aubrey Haynie has a great version of it as well) This version is closer to Arvil Freeman's (not sure if he ever recorded it) Thanks for posting these!

One of my favorite songs of all time. Country Gentleman are one of my favorite bands of all time. My earliest memory with my father is listening to Darby’s Castle in his ‘72 Chevy C10.

@@smkranz1 Oh my goodness I use them every day copying the link over to promo letters. Problem now, when I search on youtube, they do not show up. Even after subscribing to you. I did store them in a file in my email, but at least one is missing. Anyway, thank you very much. I hope Rob enjoyed them enough to br I'll ng them back.

It's strange how so many versions of a song by various artists are put out, then one will stand out so beautifully it's a new one all its own. Rhonda sang this on FB through her tears, you can't replace or fake the anointing, and it flooded her. To rejoice in our salvation is the the greatest joy of all .
