🚩 PSA: In the 21st Century, creatives must be the sole Manager Owner of ALL their works & affairs ie *Self Administered as The MLC puts it.* Hire/associate with both a paralegal and a bookkeeper, and avoid attending meetings signing any documents without their opinion. *All the horror stories of ownership and money issue is when a creative has a manager.*

I am 40 years old and always thought I was too old to rap by now. But I never had the time to let the whole world hear my voice. I am sorry I took so long.

I'm getting 40 this week and I really look old. Most of the people think I'm 50+. It's for sure a little bit strange for a old fck making tiktoks and sing and rap like I'm 20. But I have my audience and i grew a lot in the past two years. Posting daily and release at least every month seems to work for me like it works for young folks. Maybe with a little bit more hate because of my look 😆

This is wrong. Check this out, my friends started a new business and some lost weight etc. They became a personal trainer. So, I like and comment and congratulate them. Right. I even share their new business shops etc. But they can't even like or comment on my music?? Which is MY business. Nah! F that. They ain't real friends. You support your homies. You forgive to easy. Or you don't take your music seriously. Peace out ✌️

To be honest Sir, being in a band or even having my own band has been my crazy secret dream since my scholastic days, I'm now 33 but I don't know why, I still love music and i think will never stop loving it. I grew up in a family where most of us love to sing and dance, especially my late dad who used to sing so excellently, while my older sisters used to be in a choir and dance troop during their youngster days, but practically prevails, they chose to work in a company, my eldest sissy as an advertising manager, and my other sister as an account executive for a multinational company. And me, I'm now working as data financial analyst for an international finance company but music is still knocking inside me, I don't know why, in fact i'm an introvert I ah kind of afraid to be in front of a crowd, but when I'm alone in my room singing hitting the right notes and still studying to play instrument, I feel like a real pro or a rockstar haha...perhaps time will tell if I can really do it as a musician, not in the pop era though I'm a fan of pop as well in fact, my ultimate crush is Dua Lipa. But my genre would be I think a combi of alternative, funk, blues, rnb and electronic etc... and in a band not as a solo

What i know is that no matter what some close minded people will tag every successful artists as being in the illuminati. Some dude said that taylor swift is in the illuminati because there's no way she would have that huge fanbase without doing anything. Like woah....so no one can be successful in this life? That i am planning to be an artist doesn't mean that I don't pray to God. The same goes for all these celebrities. No one should expect them to come on stage and pray in front of everyone before starting show. Not everything has to do with the illuminati

I'm only just discovering your little "talks" now, and I find you very trustworthy and direct. I am a musician, but one who started taking it seriously only recently. This is after a LIFETIME of doing mostly other things. So, by necessity, it will be a hobby for me. Still, my favorite thing is writing songs, and I'd like other people to perform them. I have no idea how to make this happen, since the songwriting/publishing business has changed, and many songs are written by committees of producers and "hit-makers." Also, my songs are not any particular genre (in my opinion) although some people have said they sound like musical theater. I am wondering if you have addressed "professional" songwriting in any of your videos.

Thank you for brining up the dichotomy and double standard for women artists in the industry. I just started a label, and I am releasing my first single in July. With all the pressures of promoting my music on the internet, I have became really present to that double standard. It is way harder for women in the music industry, because in order to stand out, we have to think about looking good all the time, hair makeup, sex appeal... etc. it's like wowwwww. there's so much there, and I feel like facing all of that has stopped me from having the true confidence to promote my "image"... how I ended up on your video. lol. I was like... I really just have to create something, u know?

I think artists should be paid more for their streams! I’m an artist on DistroKid and Spotify, we will walk past a penny on the streets but we fighting for a penny per stream crazy! If you’re an artist that can generate millions of streams without these streaming services well do it! Some of something is better than some of nothing!

I strongly dislike Social media, I don’t want to turn into a content creator and promoting myself is something I loathe. I’ll keep my day job, I’m too old for all this stress and unnecessary pressure, that won’t have a worthwhile return.

The problem I have is selling an image is like getting type casted as an actor! People expect you to be that image everyday all day, kids start to believe more in the image of the artist instead of getting the message from the music! Music is suppose to be a form of communication and when it becomes more about the image, the artist becomes stressed and depressed because we are not an image we are human! But I understand it’s branding and business, you have to think about yourself as a business!

Using the solution tool on distro kid will get you banned from Spotify. People are not paying to get plays by bots. Spotify isn’t even cracking down on it. It’s distro kid who is removing people.

What up Bro, Hope you good. Just wanted to find out would it be beneficial for me to open my own publishing company before going after a co-publishing deal as a song writer? will this help me to negotiate better for a portion of the publishing or will it jeopardize my chances my chances of getting signed with a major publisher. Do you think me having my own publishing company will hamper my chances or does it not matter at all?

Good advice. Ask yourself “Do I want someone to stroke my ego so I feel good while avoiding a reality check, or truth I can utilize to become a better musician?” Along these lines is allowing people to hang-out during rehearsals. Big mistake. Are you rehearsing to improve or as an excuse to party? I firmly, but politely, inform people that we don’t allow people to hang-out during rehearsal because we’re working. Then follow-up with we appreciate their interest and would like them to come by when we test-run the sets (play in front of a small group of people for feedback).

When y'all see artists forcing an image & broadcasting the lamest details about themselves that nobody cares about just know they are puppets on an assignment from their masters to blackball & intimidate real artists who would never DREAM of being known as such on a mainstream level lmfao. Keep the wack competition to yourselves
