I have both the 3000 Vanford and Stradic I can not fault either, funny enough the extra weight felt better on my favourite 8.6 Bass rod so it’s horses for causes. Great reviews 👍

YES BUT ALSO GET “SNAGGED EASILY ON WOOD DUE TO THE SHORTER LENGTH WIRE AND THE HOOK EXTENDS PAST THAT WIRE /Bladed area AS I HAVE FOUND OUT A FEW TIMES…..DEFINITELY DONT ENJOY USING HIGH PRICED ITEMS IN THE RIVER

In canada the Tatula MQ LT is 250 bucks and the Shimano stradic is 320. that is a massive price gap. the fact that they are being compared for the difference in price alone almost gives the MQ LT the win. I noticed people complaining about some sort of knocking stuff with MQ reels and daiwa reels in general so I'll have to see how that plays out. I do notice a slight side to side play if I wiggle the metal part of the handle. I have not noticed it while fishing. (I was a shimano boy last time I was fishing) this time around I went all daiwa well see how it goes I guess.

The knocking can be fix by opening the body and tightening the screws to the main gear and add some blue locktite. The handle play wil be lessen as well.

I find in very interesting that you never see the Pflueger Supreme-Patriarch line included in these comparisons. If you did they would wind up being the pick of the three 9 out of 10 times. And the supreme is $170.

Just watched this videos, and checked my Metanium 24 DC, and it is JDM models, i never had any problems on the the jdm models... opened it once for regrease and oiling, felt fantastic as ever... no problemo

It's something we don't see anymore on reels as they aren't used because of the improved drag that we have had over the many, many years.

I have to many information this reel, if you want to up grade this reel for size 3000, about bushing plastic to bearing stainless steel hybrid SS - Abec 9. And then this reel can be to much smooth. This is detail information for this Size 3000 ; 1. Bushing mainshaft near the clicker , Size : 7 x 11 x 3 mm. ( The cataloge book : No. 14, Code : 10J3F ) 2. Rottor Nut , Size : 4 x 8 x 3 mm. I have both and 10000% the Tatula MQ is a better reel. The way it feels, casts, fights fish are better. The Stradic looks nicer, but performance the Tatula is the winner easily!

Thanks for your feedback! The Tatula MQ is a great reel for what it is and I enjoy that reel. In my several months of fishing both, the stradic is what worked better for me - it covered a wider range of applications for me. The only thing that the Tatula did not do well was in casting anything lighter than 1/4 oz. Other than that, both reels are very identical outside of the MQ LT being lighter.

i use my 2500SF exist SLP in salt only and has no magseal very smooth butter but the price was not butter caught a bonefish today and lots of bass and sea bass

I bought a Daiwa Lexa Lt in the same price, i took it at the sea side and it's still in a very good shape . I fished it since one year almost everyday , no maintenance done yet . That aluminum body does wonders .

Stradic on top from personal experience. My procyon al lt 4000 got destroyed while my friends stradic fl 5k is still fine. I wish daiwa would use stainless or brass instead of zinc gears in $200 reels

Line capacity is hugely overrated. Actually, having more line capacities on such a small, light duty reel is nothing more than a waste of line. People even put spacers to allow for less line waste. If you need lots of line, and are fishing the ocean, then you’re using much larger reels. Those Shimano reels have plenty of lune capacity. Shimano focuses on efficiency, instead of just putting high numbers on paper and appealing to the folks who make their buying decisions based on the paper instead of the actual reel feel. Same with drag. Much smoother drag startup on the Shimano then the Daiwa. It allows you to use lighter line while minimizing break offs when you’re setting the hook on a big fish.

I agree to some degree! I do use my bass tackle for salmon fishing and I’ve had instances where my line would run out while fighting a big king salmon. That would really be the only reason why I prefer more line on a spinning reel. I don’t have dedicated salmon rod/reels.

@@ChewyThaoFishing I’m located in the Pacific, and catch hundreds of salmon a year. If you’re using a small reel like this for kings, then you’re doing it wrong. If you’re using the appropriate tackle when targeting salmon, and you still find that 100 feet of line isn’t enough, then again - you’re doing it wrong!

@@giand5719 Haha. Cool story. I use anywhere between 20lb and 50lb braid. Reviewer says he doesn’t fish in salt water, which generally means that he catches kings in rivers. In a river, if you let more than 100-150 feet when you have a king on the line, then your chances of landing it are extremely small. Btw, I caught 20lb salmon on the fly, having let out no more than only but a bit of backing. Again, if you need that much line, or 100lb braid, then you are doing it wrong.

@@helterskelter156 If your fishing Lake michigan side you will need the line capacity, but then again get a dedicated salmon reel at that point. 3000 will do ok when they are black but not when they are silver. Worst if you end up snagging one. Then again if that happens it goes back to getting a dedicated 4000 reel for salmon.

Hard to say - they are completely different reels. The met dc is a lot lighter and offers easier adjustments. I think the exsence dc has it beat in casting distance but the met dc is more versatile and covers a wider range of lures.

The JDM models are a couple hundred bucks cheaper than tackle warehouse has them for 500 plus tax I never had a JDM reel give me an issue and to pay 150 to 200 more For me, I will stick with the JDM versions

They are nice looking rods. I return mine for the reason. I’ve have a friend who told me they were horror. Show to get any warranty work done on, especially if it’s a breakage on a rod. good luck to you with the rod I hope you catch many big fish.
