The old crankcase block has a plain(journal) bearing in it. The have to pound it out, So the old crankcase block might be ok.

Much better way of doing this is to wire it to a switch so you can shut it off when not wanted. Also that isn't a very good location for a backup alarm, stick it somewhere under the vehicle. Anywhere out of the way really, that will get smashed where you put it.

Nice job, however on 99% of these Toro Transaxles, they leak due to worn seals. Toro sells a seal kit for both left and right transaxles for $90 each. In most cases you never need to replace a transaxle assembly.
