I think the switch from punks to boyfriend material was right after their first commercially successful song “I need you”. They started as a hip-hop group with RM, Suga and J-hope as the foundation of the group. The vocalists were added later. Hitman Bang pivoted the group to more pop styles when he realized that’s what the public was responding to. That man is a complete genius!!! He single handedly created BTS and the mega company HYBE from near bankruptcy….

Wow - I love how engaged everyone was in this reaction! Really shows the interest levels. But it’s hard to answer because there is so much to say… Being a K-pop idols is a huge industry in Korea. You have to join one of the “big 3” (now HYBE is bigger than all 3 combined thx to BTS). There are a many ways to join such as talent competitions (like Suga) or auditions (like Jung kook & V) or being scouted (like Jin). They all move to Seoul and live in company apts and go to school together because education is the most important thing in Korean society (all 7 me,bers of BTS have bachelor degrees). The BTS members shared a 2bd apt during their training period which can be as short as 6mos (like Jimin) or 2yrs (like Jung kook) or 7yrs like others idol wanna-be’s. And during this training period there are no guarantees that you will “debut” and even after the debut, you can be disbanded… fyi: there were up to 30 trainees that went thru the revolving door to the BTS apt. The training consists of everything from dance, vocals, stage presence…The typical day is about 16hrs long. Jimin once said in an interview that he practiced until 4am and the got up at 6:30 for school regularly. There is so much material from and about BTS that if you want to know anything there’s a way to find out. Thank you all for your interest and support of BTS.

One of my frustrations is that you say you liked 2NE1 but when I check the playlists you have Blackpink. YG destroyed IMHO 2NE1 and used Blackpink to profit from 2NE1's success. Blackpink is a good but one-dimensional group and inferior to 2NE1 in vocals, stage presence and creativity. You should fix your oversight.
