Excellent set up, thank you for sharing. I think the Reckless 40 and the molle pouches in the way you have them are the best for efficient packing, keeping the weight down as much as possible.

Great overview of an obviously well sorted kit, thanks for sharing. I do wonder if you just used the reckless 80 without accessory pouches and bags if you wouldn't be carrying about the same volume of gear, albeit all together and less organized; thoughts?
@professionalpiddler1071
@professionalpiddler1071 3 ай бұрын
You definitely could do that and I have but 2 reasons I don’t anymore. 1. The R80 side bags are way bigger, hang down lower and weigh more. 2. The more available volume you have in your bags, the more likely you are to fill it with stuff. Having a smaller luggage system forces you to stay minimalist and figure out what you truly “need” to take with you. That’s my opinion anyway.

Scaling down from the 80 to the 40 also and this video shows me that I can definitely bring as much stuff as I'll ever need.

late to the party, but great video nonetheless. I also went for the Reckless Moto 40L. Its actually good to be forced to really think about what and how you pack. 80L could make you pack things you might not need

Nice setup. I use the R80 with a single 4L aux pox on the kickstand side. Gives me a total of 76L of storage. (yeah, the r80 only comes with 72L of storage....) I have 2L water bladder in that aux made by MSR. It has a nozzle on it and I can access water on the low end without removing the bladder from the bike. The Mosko aux is made for that particular bladder. Great setup for a BDR.

Be nice if you’d finish telling us where the wire goes back in? You did not hook it up during the installation so not sure where you attach it to. 🤷🏽‍♂️

It attaches back to the original bolt that you removed it from. The new bracket just goes between the bolt and the body.

Amazing video, thanks for sharing! My 4 Macaws would never allow me to do any overnight moto trips, but at 71, all my days of domestic and international travel are thankfully over. I also use the Reckless 40 for my KTM 1090R and a Reckless 10 for my 2023 KTM 350 EXC-F. I love how you shared the step by step process of loading and unloading your bike, and after moving to a remote section of CO from SoCA in 1994, my day trip rides will now be safer in case of a flat or mechanical issue after watching this awesome video, thanks again and enjoy your next ride with the passion shared in this video! As a natural medicine doctor, I immediately noticed how frequently you were clearing your throat, this usually indicates a specific or a multiple food allergy. Common foods that trigger this are grains like wheat, oats, rice, and legumes like lentils, peas, and beans. If I were to do an extended moto camping trip, my diet would consist entirely of dried meat, cheese, and fruit. All forms of chronic pain, Type 2 diabetes risks, emotion issues, and low energy problems can all be traced to our eating habits. This and the following video will explain the science behing the diet/chronic illness issue. Thanks again my friend! Here is the first video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rdGSjM-Tr9LZiWw.html

Excellent work! One of the best Moto-camping videos I’ve seen. Question: does that kit just sit across the rear fender or do you need a rack back there? Like, how does it attach in the back?

Thanks for the video. I just ordered the same unit for my a/c. Quick question, does your vent fan still run constantly while the a/c is on or did the soft start change that function? I'm assuming it still operates as before because of the dual fan set up but I've seen reports on some a/c models that the vent fan will only come on when the compressor is running.

The vent fan runs all the time, regardless of the compressor kicking on and off.

Thanks for the video. I just installed the VC bumper on a 2021 and this was very helpful. A few comments. 1: my Warn winch came with 6' of 4g wire, and I ended up using 10' of wire total per run, so I think 2/0 is pretty overkill. I used 1/0 and 2g probably would have been adequate. 2: Adding the VC nerf bar to the bumper hides the two unsightly holes left in the plastic on either side of the winch tray. 3: The VC skid plate protects the intercooler that will now be exposed after removing all the undercarriage plastics required to install the bumper. For cold-weather drivers, it also eliminates the need for the factory-powered louvers that you mentioned. I am now concerned that the intercooler will cool as well as it did before, however. 4: For those vans with parking sensors in the bumper that need to be relocated, I was able to strip wires out of the loom to get the required length on the L side. On the R however, the 3 wires need to be lengthened as they will be barely long enough. 5: The revised VC dimensions for cutting the plastics were spot-on for me, but this is a tedious and nerve-wracking process. I used a multi-tool. I think this is a very well-built winch bumper. Maybe not quite as nice as the CAtuned option, but also less money.
