What type scoop are u using. Im ready to get back into the game. Been years. Need a new machine to. Been retired five months and im ready! Was contemplating an Excalibur, but I see this machine and the equinox series are perfect for rain and surf .

Lots of questions, but I’ll try my best. My scoop is a Stealth 720i I didn’t mess with any of the settings on this machine, but the discrimination seemed to be functioning as it should. There was some feedback due to radio frequencies (my best guess) being emitted from the main lifeguard tower. Thomas was using the equinox 600 and had the same issue. I liked the Manticore, but I also like my equinox 800. I’m not convinced I’ll find more with the Manticore vs. the Equinox. The Equinox is an amazing machine for the price. I have my Excalibur that I used for years and I don’t plan on selling it, but it’s sooooo heavy compared to the other style machines. Who finds the most?…I figure that metal detecting is a numbers game. The more time you spend detecting, the more you find. I’ve been detecting since the 80’s, so I’ve found quite a bit. If your swing is dialed in and you keep the coil an even distance from the sand consistently, you’ll find more. I notice those with an erratic swing and a fast walk tend to miss many targets.

On my Manticore last week I dug a solid 11 ….14K ring with 3 small Diamonds….. dig LOW numbers ……Thanks for sharing

Wow!! GOLD on 1st Manticore hunt. Congrats!! The "Target Trace" scale along the bottom is especially good for predicting bottle caps & other iron-heavy trash. / Have spent a year on beaches w/my Manticore. Lots of clad & odds-and-ends, SOME silver, but zero gold. 😃

Well I’m a little behind on your videos. My wife and I have taken a motorcycle trip from Ft. Myers Fl. Out here to Huntington Beach and I did some detecting found a few coins. We are going cross country from Vegas to Indiana then home. Love to see all the cool stuff you find keep it up

Thank you! It’s been challenging to get out regularly, but I try to make the most of it when I do go out. If you’re in Huntington Beach, try to find time to ride over to Corona Del Mar beach (in Newport Beach)…the most beautiful area of Orange County in my opinion. Not sure if you are, but if you’re a car enthusiast, Chip FOOSE’s shop is in Huntington beach, and there are free tours Monday-Thursday from 12-1. Enjoy SoCal, and have an amazing trip!

Gregg, I’m curious…. when you’re out on the beach, do you dig every target, or are there some targets where the tone or whatever sounds so strange you know it’s junk and you don’t dig? Also, congrats on the 2000 subscriber! Love your videos…🇺🇸👍

Congrats on 2k subs & another impressive haul at a heavily detected beach. Your buddy does the "U" swing, coil goes up at each end...the disparity in finds? I still fall into the "Z" swing, undoubtedly missing many targets until I notice & correct. 😃

I haven’t been on the beach in quite a while. Too many things going on. There are some great beaches in the north side of SD. One of my favorites is Fletcher Cove.

I would think the base would have a deeper groove for a cleaner bullet. It looks like a Ringtail Sharps, but the deep rifling is the confusing part.

Sorry to hear about your luck but as they say it comes in threes. Hopefully that will be it for you for a long time. My wife and I are getting ready for a road trip heading out west on the Harley to California then back across to Indiana then back to SW Florida.Going to take the dectector and hunt along the way. I was looking to buy a new Unit and I was looking 800. I do not like the rechargeable battery because I like to go camping and I do not have a way to charge it up. I like to put batteries that way I will not run out of a charge when you were camping I have no electricity so that’s what turned me off of this machine.
