Though... about having a fulfilling work, he might not be that right. If you are very well paid for your job, but the good moments are not enough to carry you through the bad since the bad moments are so self-numbing, you have to look for something else to do for a living. If salary is the only thing pulling you through, you forget there's more to life than work hours. And you're going to be a sad sack of meat.

I do not believe in allowances. In families there are things you do because it is part of what makes a "family" work. Load/unload the dishwasher. Do laundry. Fold Laudry. Sweep, mop, wipe down counters. Clean the bathrooms etc. When children are young have a job jar. If they need money they can pull a job out of the jar and EARN money. Once a kid is an adult, if he/she is living at home they need to have a J.O.B...even if they are attending school. We made the mistake with our son. We own it and we could write a book on what NOT to do. We GAVE TOO MUCH. We REQUIRED TOO LITTLE. We own it. Do not make our mistake.

Great video Larry. Have always loved your "simple" approach. Fits perfectly with my own philosophy and what I teach about most people wanting to appear clever by talking about complex stuff whereas, it is the simple stuff that makes the difference. It's the same on my channel but I still remain "amazed" by how people can watch videos like this and remain stuck in their own lies and excuses saying that other people had more chances than they did in life. Oh well, at least they will never run out of reasons for why they failed and won't have to take a long hard look in the mirror. :-)

YUCK! "They are stealing your retirement, your time, your space". What ever happened to family. Many christian societies usually have the adult children and parents living together in one house. Where does this BS come from? Is this a Puritan or extreme protestant view? I know many Catholics and other Christians who live with their extended families. This is how it was in the bible also. What if this bs "this is my life" is what is wrong, and that living closer to our families and ensuring that wealth and family culture is passed down the generation is the solution to the modern age of vices and individualism.

Survey those families you are talking about. DOES EVERYONE CONTRIBUTE? Do chores? Work a job? Bring in money? My bet is yes they do. There is a difference between a 30 year old playing video games in the basement and a 30 year old that is holding down a job. Going to school, and doing chores.

This is BS! Such propaganda for baby boomers to let all decisions fall on their children to deal with. There are not enough jobs at McDonnolds etc for our fat stay at home adult children. You will only succeed in ruining your legacy, that is your children and grand children. Wealthy people, truly rich people help out their kids, pay for college, give them trusts, businesses to play with, investments to play with, that is to learn and to have a chance a getting lucky from using money to make money (not work to make money). I thought conservatives cared about family. What is worse, you children being healthy and safe until the economy gets better or they retrain for another job, or starving on the street? If you say you would give you child some money to live away from home then that is your choice, however just know that that money is going to some other landowner, and not staying in the family. I could understand if you lived in the woods, or rural area, you could say "go to the big city" or, "go be a man" etc. One thing I would wonder is whether this same rule applies to women?

Dear god, I have heard some loads of shit in my life, the dump I took this morning included, but holy shit-snacks, bro, you are full of it. I mean, damn, do you believe your own crap or do you just shove it down people's throats and take their money, chuckling the word "suckers" under your breath? My guess is the latter rather than the former. The bottom line is this: to chance one's life it takes RESOURCES, and by that I mean money. Everyone's life has limitations on them, and YES, it is because people CAN'T do something. Most people who are successful start out as the spoiled brat of some other successful cunt, (I say glaring at Larry's image on the screen), and are essentially handed their success. Other's attain success through charm, manipulation or brown nosing. The rest of us, hard working, honest people who still believe success is earned, get nothing. We get the shaft, screwed, stepped on and left for dead. You say "do what it takes", what do you mean by that? What is it we must do? Work harder? People do that... they see no results. People like you are up your ass. The simple truth is, success comes down to one thing and one thing only... Luck. The luck of the draw. If it wasn't, then everyone WOULD be successful. But the truth is they aren't. If it were about hard work then there would be millions of successful people in the country, but there aren't. They weren't born to a rich daddy. They weren't the popular kid at school. They weren't the spineless yesman who shoved his nose up the boss' ass. They are person working the 8 to 10 job, pulling countless hours of overtime, saving every penny, living WAY below their means, struggling every day to make ends meet. Why? Because it's the best they can do with the resources that were available to them in the course of their life. And it all starts with who you were born to. Thus, it all comes down to luck. It's easy for you to preach, Larry (Aka, Discount Mr. Clean), you who lives in the lap of luxury and probably never had to struggle a day in his life. Trust me, pal, live life in the 99%, your bullshit views will change very quickly. You'll also probably end up killing yourself too from the hopelessness too. Now there is a video featuring you I would very much enjoy watching...

Lone Wanderer - luck certainly plays a part . . . a very small one. And if you had a clue what my background is, you wouldn't be saying any of these things about me. I grew up dirt poor and worked my ass off to get where I am. My views are the result of growing up with nothing, not the other way around. I earned every dime. My parents worked retail in Muskogee, Oklahoma. No one in my family has every been rich. But you can't seem to accept that folks who grew up with nothing simply worked their way to success by being willing to do what most people aren't willing to do. You need someone to blame for your own results. So you blame luck, or the system, or the successful. Your attitude is what is wrong with our society: victimhood. You also have obviously never read a biography or a history book. Most people who are rich, worked to get there, it was NOT handed to them as you believe.

Mr. Winget's life is an example of the way capitalism works. He has had his ups and downs, and he takes ownership of how he responded to whatever life threw at him. I agree about biographies. I have been inspired by reading books from the biography section of my local library. These books can serve as instruction manuals for how to be successful despite poverty, tragedy, persecution, disability, and loss.

Not every person not working is not looking for work. There are some poor people who are paying taxes, with several jobs, and still ends are not meeting. They have instilled your philosophy without ever hearing, seeing or even knowing you. Yet, they trudge along. Going through hard times, I never went out and begged for anything, waiting on welfare took too long, and drugs were just not an option. It took me almost 15-20 years just to get where I am now, and that's just cutting close. What bothers me is that there are rich or wealthy individuals who say, "Pull yourself up by the bootstraps!" My problem was, I had no boots. I became willing to accept help and continue to work, hustle, do whatever, even when I saw other people succeed. What's needed: A fair wage for work, making it possible to pay bills and live on, not to be taxed so highly that what we've worked for results in pennies, as opposed to dollars, and a helping hand for some of us who are struggling a bit more than the rest. Also, mentoring (private sector), so that the chain of poverty and bad money management breaks. Just sayin...
