Hey thanks for the video! I'm in a situation where I need to make clearance to mount my ceiling but the garage door components are in the way. In your video around 3:22, I need to move the spring bracket up a bit (the bracket that is below the one you unscrewed for the motor), I wasn't sure if that was safe to do or the spring is going to kill me lol Was curious if you had any thoughts on that, thanks!

You inspired me to build two red oak bookshelves myself. I have been creating these bookshelves in the garage in my free time for the last month. I bought some of the tools you recommended and built the shelves in a similar fashion to you with a few dimension changes and minor trim changes. I am about to start the finishing process. Thanks for the inspiration, I think I am a hobby woodworker for life now.

I am looking at making one of these for something to try out. But its nice to see that your project had a few bumps in the road. So many videos on here show everything going perfect when I feel its good to show what can go wrong, like the burn on the wood and how to correct it.

'I'm SO sorry to hear of your Sister's passing - my heart goes out to you. I can't know your pain but I lost my Sis a few years ago - it was surreal and disorienting to go through - only time and staying focused will heal those wounds. It is nice to see you back in the saddle with a big manly truck for hauling all the stuff you'll need to make useful stuff and continuing to make it seem easy at the same time. Welcome back 🤗

Laminate stair treads with a bullnose require actual wood underneath the bullnose, or they'll just snap when someone puts too much weight on the tip. Some manufacture's claim you can do it without, but I'm absolutely not trusting 3/8" of laminate to hold anything.

Hello im in the process of fitting my mums lorex NVR system. I was wondering if there is any benefits of having a lorex door bell along with this system? She currently has a Eufy doorbell connected to Alexa echo, however there is a 4sec delay. Ideally it would be great if the lorex door bell can connect to the NVR so image pops up on the NVR monitor due to her mobility it would be easier for her ti view. Thanks in advance for any information regarding this

I have mine set to send a notification on my phone but I use the porch camera (not the doorbell camera) to notify me. It works great that way. I ended up to turning off the notifications from the doorbell cam because it activates even when someone is just walking by on the sidewalk and too many notifications means I just won't look at them anymore. I don't THINK that the doorbell camera can be set to show up on the monitor for the other cameras but I'm not 100% sure.

Beautifully done project! But two issues I see, both having to do with maintaining secrecy: ONE: Relying on a fake book as an opener. Someone may want to check out the book. Better to use an object that no one would have any obvious reason to grab, like a plant, or even make the opening mecanism a part of the shelf itself. TWO: Covering an access that people would naturally look for, like the basement door in this case. Because, you know, in order to keep this passage secret, you'd pretty much have to cover up the fact that you have a basement. Of course, this project is still a nice addition to your home even if it's not a "secret" door, but it might as well be, right? ;- )

Beautiful job. I didn't use caulk on mine either and the seams are nice and sharp (if not perfect). But they were so slippery that I added rubber matting on top. I didn't want to ruin the beauty but someone was going to slip fersure.

Hi, what happens when a person comes to the door? Does it record automatically and send you the video clip?
@renovateyourmind

It records automatically and sends a notification that someone is at the front door. You can turn the notification off if it over-triggers from people walking by on the sidewalk near the road.

Using just titebond and no titebond 3 that is waterproof will probably have your board come apart after a while of washing. Always use titebond 3 glue for any food prep projects

@renovateyourmind
@renovateyourmind 8 ай бұрын
Search for "paint edger" and you'll get what you're looking for. There are a bunch of different brands. They come with replaceable pads and usually have wheels that you run against the trim to keep the paint on the wall and not the trim.
