Nelson is horrible! I am at the middle of this. I hope that things worked out for Barbara. But, given that this is crime documentary, I doubt it.

'Whether Billie was there to protect her'. That wasn't his job. It was his mom's job to protect her children. I am not trying to be mean here, but why after one terrifying experience with a criminal, why did she hook up with another? You just don't give someone the benefit of the doubt, when you have children to protect.

Maybe the step father split, because he felt rejected. He was a father to her for most of her life. But, she wanted to get in touch with her imprisoned father, which then brought unnecessary drama into his life
