Wow! What a big stereo hi fi components collection in South Korea! As a man living in South Asia, I am impressed to see this collection in one shop in South Korea!....... Thank you for the video! Sorry about the late comment.

The LG stuff is low quality crap. The turntables are also not worth trying to fix. Lotte brand electronics are low quality. Yeah lots of retro stuff but most is trash. The old Japanese electronics on the other hand are worth getting and fixing. Most of those shops wont be around in 10 years. The owners are very old and no new generation will take over. So visit and purchase anything you like before the stores are gone forever.

My dad bought this one new, I repaired it about 15 years ago (dried out 1uF caps here and there). The power output is extremely conservative. I always loved its sound, especially with the loudness switch turned on. Definitely can shake a room or two.

Nice and thanks for sharing. Japan has cool shop for used vintage audio stores. Much of the worlds Lao has realize that the Japanese keep their vintage electronics in great condition and some foreigner started an online company to export used Japanese goods around the world and doing incredible. I would think in Korea, they have many of their own brands that many around the world of ever heard of. But I think the Japanese electronics are of Hoover quality and why many looked for the made in Japan stamp.

I’ve been collecting vintage since about 1997 when only few were collecting vintage electronics and furniture. But now with the eBay revolution since it started I think in the late 90’s, everyone is now aware of vintage and collecting. Which is great and not getting dumped and now restored. I no longer have to explain to ppl. why I buy older items, like I was frequently 25 years ago. Just the prices have gone up and harder to find .

I got one for free last year that included the rear speakers. The CD player wasn’t working. I opened it up and realized the lens had come loose. I retrieved it from inside the unit, glued it back in place and everything works perfectly now. I use it daily, I love it! I never could’ve afforded this when it came out so I’m super happy to have a fully functional one now for free. It’s an EU version with the 2 disc changer. I have it plugged into a step-up/down converter just to be safe. Have a record player and my tv plugged into it. It sounds better than any modern audio equipment I own.

The two disc tray is the one I have and is much better quality than the 5 disc changer. The Pioneer rep advised me against going for the 5 CD one.

I always get disappointed when I see those stupid spring loaded speaker terminals on such beautiful amps. I know they were common at the time, but surely someone must have thought, even in 1976, this could be done better for not much more cost/effort.

Excellent choice of unit, I only have the CMT-SD1 unit, and I want to ask you if you have been able to record a Minidisc using the optical inputs from a mixer or a computer? I don't know how to select D-IN 1 or D-IN 2 (by default it uses the analog input) Believe me, before asking, I have read the manual several times and I cannot find the option to select those entries. any tip will be appreciated,

I love visiting such vintage electronic markets. I genuinely have a passion for antique stuff especially electronic gadgets. Buying items of your choice at an affordable price is another great advantage of visiting such markets. It's worth taking a risk even if it malfunctions, as the selling price out here is extremely low. Formerly I had a good number of audio systems all vintage but with lapse of time had to get rid of them due to unavoidable circumstances. The markets out here in India aren't as good as the markets out there for vintage stuff. Anyways, it's really thrilling to come across old music systems that are no longer in production these days and have become obsolete. Looking forward to more of such videos in the near future....

What was the point of showing the amplifier if you didn't hook it up. You just hooked everything into the receiver
@nickdray50723 ай бұрын
You are clueless about this amplifier. You don't know how the attenuator/mute switch works (even though it's labeled) , or how or why acoustic compensator switch is used. You took a swerve past the tape copy switch altogether. And why are you running both speakers into the two left channels only. Fortunately you're unlikely to blow the output transistors by driving the right channel into no load but I wouldn't advise trying that on every amplifier from the '70's.
