Hello there , from Australia, years ago I was up in Queensland Australia travelling and came across a wild buffalo standing in the middle of the road and would.dnt get off the road so I thought I'd shoot it and it would move off the road and die so I loaded my 410 Winchester single shot with a 110 gun slug load and shot at about 15 to 18 yards dumb thing didn't move it just sat on its ass and was dead so I had to drive around it

Does the half grain of powder given an extra 50FPS hold true for most powders? Found a 1oz bismuth load that is listed at 7950 psi and 1450 FPS using 27 grains of Winchester Super Handicap. If i bump that up to 27.5 grains can I hit that 1500 FPS mark?

@@davidmancini2198 you’ll see both pressure and velocity go up especially with the fast powders. That psi is really low, I personally would be comfortable bumping it up.

That's a comfortable guitar body style. After some trigger time with the maverick 88 I've changed my mind. It's a good gun. Defender tactical makes a good leave in adapter thats cheap works great I installed one. I took a couple inches off the barrel and gave it a larger bead to. It's exactly 26 inches with the pistol grip overall. Now I've got something I can work with.

@theshotgunscientists I agree but i would say shotshell loading knowledge n components are much much more esoteric. At least seems that way when your standin on the edge lookin down. With rifle handgun your just balancing weight "pressure" between charge n projectile n its all interchangeable including primer brands. Just dont seat your projectile too deep.

I have a bunch of .495 round balls left over when i used😮 to muzzle load hunt. Could you use them in a 16 ga., if so, how accurate would they be? I "assemble " 10 ga, 16ga, 410,,.270, and .357. Been loading on and off for the past 50 years. Just curious about about the round ball loads.
@theshotgunscientists

.495 is in the middle ground of being to big for anything bigger than 32 or 28 gauge. They’ll stack on top each other in those gauges but anything else they’ll take up to much room to get a good weight and fit
