There can be no doubt now that Paisiello was a great composer and this concerto is beautiful. I only knew him from the aria collection and a couple of arias which are only now attributed to him. Some Beethovinian greatness here.

I used to have this recording before I got rid of my cd. Iv been playing this all my life and this recording inspired me. Please can you give the info on if I can get it on line. Artist too who is playing I need the details please want to see if I can find it on Apple Music

Concerto bellissimo, il migliore di Viotti... Il secondo movimento ha sicuramente ispirato quello del Concerto op.61 di Beethoven. Benchè sia passato sotto le mani di Oistrakh, Menuhin, Grumiaux, Perlman e altri (bravissima Lola Bobesco in questa bellissima registrazione...) non si può dire sia frequentatissimo, ed è un peccato proprio perchè da esso discenda si può dire la massima letteratura violinistica da concerto ottocentesca (Beethoven e Brahms in testa).

Stamitz is a super giant composer. definitely he was born composer with excellent, rich ideas of composing. Thanks for uploading.

Конечно, под копирку у своего учителя.. :) Но! Главная партия написана едва ли не талантливее, чем у Шопена! Как жаль, что мальчик погиб! Какое несчастье... Где этот Бог??? Как сказано в романе "Овод" Э. Войнич. "Зовите, падре, своего Бога, громче зовите! Может, он спит!"

Lo ripeto da anni: una stupida critica "progressista" ha relegato Czerny, così come Cramer, Wolfl, Wilms, Hummel, Ries, Clementi, Viotti, Krommer, Pleyel, von Winter, Kreutzer, Rode, Mehul, Rubinstein, Cipriani Potter, Boccherini, Cambini, Moscheles, Reicha, Lipinski, ecc. tra i cosiddetti autori minori. E basta con le similitudini: sembra questo o sembra quello, Czerny è un GENIO originalissimo ed inimitabile!! Quando sono giù di corda metto su la sua Sinfonia n. 1 e mi torna il buonumore. A proposito, qualcuno sa che fine hanno fatto sue Sinfonie nn. 3 & 4?

Oufff..... que d'émotions et de souvenirs.... Ma famille et moi sommes allés voir André Gagnon à la Place des Arts en 1973 et nous sommes procurés cet album après le concert. Je l'ai tellement écouté. J'avais même appris la pièce Projection au piano. Merci Monsieur Gagnon pour l'ensemble de votre oeuvre. Nul doute que vous continuez à toucher les âmes par votre musique, dans l'au-delà....

Unbelievable how good this concerto is !!!! There is no decent explanation for composers like Viotti, Cramer or Clementi and many others not universally being acknowledged as giants. The 1 movement is of such a quality that one could think it was written by Beethoven himself. In a down to earth moment.
