Oh man. This is ridiculous! Would you mind saying which model drumset that is? It sounds incredible. And it is almost 20 years old so prob affordable. And BTW you sound fantastic. It is absurd.
@averagedrumguy62893 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for the kind words. It's a Roland kit with the TD11 sound module. Don't remember the exact model name since I purchased it so long ago. Guessing it's somewhere between 10-12 yrs old now. Yeah, live in a townhouse now, so can't be blasting the neighbors out with an acoustic kit. I've owned a few electric kits through the years and Roland is always solid and on point. Not as many 'bells & whistles' as some other kits I've owned (Yamaha & Alesis), but has a number solid useable drum sounds.

Yep, have both his solo albums, the early one before Super8, and the other one with No Mercy released a few years after. Bummed he hasn't released any other music since then as far as I know.

@@averagedrumguy6289 Dude. I want to find this guy. Apple Music says he did a cover of "Let Me Ride" on The Chronic 2011: A Tribute To The Songs Of Dr. Dre, but I have never actually heard him talk, so I have no idea if that is actually him rapping. l want a documentary on this guy. Edit: I can't believe that I actually found someone that know this guy. Love that so much. I honestly think that Everlast and Ice T are reachable artists that might have insight. (I'm also kind of worried about him and wouldn't want to bring up anything. One of my other favorite hip hop artists Kwest the Mad Ladd is off the radar a bit as an artist, but is also one of the best humans on Earth. I just get worried about how folks' lives have gone.)

re-load the video and get it in sync please. It's a drag to watch it like this.
@averagedrumguy62893 ай бұрын
So sorry, video must have glitched at some point within youtube because there was never any audio sync issues when it was uploaded years ago. Unfortunately, I no longer have any copies of this saved. Sucks, but pretty sure there must be other copies of this performance floating around on youtube. At some point I may try to download the vid from here and see if it's possible to re-sync the audio on some video editing software to fix.

Browsing through the record bins at Tower Records one day way, waaaayyyyy, waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy back in the late 70s and came across "What If". Eventually I found myself down at the old Golden Bear to see them live a couple of times. My only critique is that they tended to play a tad excessively here and there.

I was BLESSED, & I mean BLESSED to see Super 8 twice on their tour with Fishbone. What a magical time to witness such power from Bronx Style Bob. I've been a fan since the Rhyme Syndicate days, kept up with him in his solo rap days, then when he went this direction with Super 8 & even Khaleel. I periodically check in just to see if Bob has gifted us with another album, but sadly it's been far too long.

I was lucky to see them at a discotheque in Columbus, Ohio in ~June, 1980. I stood about 5 feet from Steve Morse all the time, and was able to shake his hand during intermission. I still say that was the most fulfilling concert I've ever been to. Back then, I anxiously waited for every Dregs album release and was in the record store on the exact day.

@PaulTheSkeptic2 жыл бұрын
I don't like those little planes. I'll fly in the big ones all day but the little ones kill musicians. I'm surprised Henry agreed. And it's not just Lynyrd Skynyrd and Buddy Holly. The list is longer than you might think and it's usually that situation. They have to be at a gig, they can't get a flight (usually because the weather is bad) so they charter one of those tiny planes. So if ever you're on tour and you for some reason you can't get a flight on an airline, maybe just eat it this time.

when I was young and stupid, I was having a big breakfast and on a whim accepted an invitation to take a flight in a tiny single engine airplane around the grand canyon. That breakfast came out in both directions mid flight repeatedly on the pilot. We landed and I was not well the rest of the day. Will never fort that.
