Listening to this again kind of puts Volume 9 into better perspective. Summer felt utterly defeated towards the end. Ruby was in danger of falling into the same trap, which kind of explains all the Summer imagery in the ever after. Ruby was literally just n danger of becoming another Summer. Summer wanted to an inspiration for Ruby to be better than her. Actually Team RWBY I think is kind of meant to be an improved Team STRQ in a way Ruby as Summer of Course Yang and Blake are Tai and Raven respectively. Falling in love with one of them them leaving because they think it’s better for everyone. But Blake comes back. And Weiss weirdly is Qrow. Without the support of her team she would have ended up just as lonely and isolated as he is. And there’s the theme of the older generation leaves the world better than they did, which they seem on the way to doing just that. As Nora would say: Cracked it!

You know, the chorus could work for Chicken Little, what with the whole "the sky is falling" stuff.
