Awsome Cover!!! What's that crazy reverb I hear?! I love it! It adds such a soothing sound
@cjgsicknote4 ай бұрын
Thanks!! 👍🙏🙏, I ran the audio through abletonlive11 and added a touch of reverb in there, then synced it back to the original video file

WoW. I thought it was just me that strummed like this. Mute with the heel of your hand, then get a strum off it. Gives a rolling beat, and the chord sounds soft, followed by a clean strum. What a groove.
@cjgsicknote4 ай бұрын
Cheers dude, yeah it's just a rhythmic strum pattern, thumb for bass notes and fingers for like a flick strum!. Wears all my fingernails down on one side so I look like a thundercat!!
@limpethead4 ай бұрын
@cjgsicknote l noticed that. Going to have to try it. Thundercat strumming. Cool. What is the first chord? Some sort of D.
@cjgsicknote4 ай бұрын
@limpethead yeah it's a d sus chord but I think this is in open d tuning if I remember right
@limpethead4 ай бұрын
@cjgsicknote done the tuning. Got a great tip for you. It might change your life. Low tension strings. I use Newtone. They are hand made. Go out of tune alot till they settle, but sound excellent and take away all the need for putting down pressure. About £10 a set. I promise, they will change everything.

Dunno if you have ever tried the older (now discontinued) Fender Super Champ X2 and could compare the two based on your memory? The XL and X2 have exactly the same controls/effects, but the Super Champ X2 is tube driven. The X2 has that tube "presence" as you'd expect from a tube amp -- that sort of bassy depth and warmth. Not sure if the solid state 50 XL has that. I also have a Fender Mustang II V2......nice but definitely lacks the tube presence.

@WhiteCranK thanks man, some songs I'll double track the vocal so it doesn't sound so much like I've just recorded it on my phone in my dining room!!. 👍
@WhiteCranK5 ай бұрын
@@cjgsicknoteWhen you say double track, do you mean that you put one track to the left speaker and the other to the right, or do you harmonize them?
@cjgsicknote5 ай бұрын
@WhiteCranK no but I'll occasionally do that, pan left and right, if I'm wanting to "move" where the vocal sits in the mix if that makes sense. Double tracking is where I'll literally record the vocal twice, 2 separate takes and play them together. The beatles did alot of double tracked vocals for example.
