Lars is a genius, every film of his is brilliant.

It's weird because from the movie, if you pay attention a bit deeper and not just on the surface "she's horrible witchbitch" it seems like her husband is portrayed as much worse villain than her. Firstly, he doesn't have emotions after his son's death, seems cold and unbothered, and any normal father would experience something after such thing. Meanwhile she gets totally sick and insane from the pain of loosing her son + she felt intense guilt for child's death. Secondly, the husband is supposed to be a psychotherapist, but he goes against suggestions of doctors in the hospital, drags her away from medical institution and comes to a "brilliant" idea of getting her into the forest, which is her worst phobia and nightmare. Then she (logically, I mean wouldn't in such curcumstances) gets completely insane/psychotic there and eventually becomes dangerous and violent, but it could be easily prevented by him simply not dragging her into the creepy forest in her such unstable & vulnerable condition. Which is obvious to everybody, not to mention an educated psychotherapist he's supposed to be in the movie. Then, after she calms down a bit (after trying to kill him), she gets a little bit reasonable and gives up on murder because the psychotic wave have passed a bit now. And then he, who is not in insanity, but still conscious and aware od the situation, chooses to strangle her to death even tho he didn't have to, because she calmed down and wasn't trying to fight anymore. There was a possibility for calling police or making her get away from the forest so they both become safe. So in the end: she is portrayed as just crazy mental disorder patient, while he is portrayed as cold psychopath.

Den der fucking æggescene. Den fungerer til alle tider. Det er så fedt spillet. Og instrueret. Fantastisk spillet, med den der kvinde, der slet ikke forstår mænd. og ikke forstår, at de her, har erfaret nogle grumme ting. Hun er opvokset med moderne feminisme, og forstår ikke at lide. og være udstødt. At leve i den lavsociale sektor. Hvor fattigdom smadrer folk. Hun er som alle andre feminister, og kender SLET ikke sit privilegium, imens hun tror, at hun er jo et OFFER! Denne scene er så stor, fordi den teknisk set er så hamrende indbegrebet af katarsis for så mange mænd, af denne slags. Sofie spiller hende SÅ godt. OG selv om filmen meget går op i pjat og komik, er denne scene interessant, fordi folk har så vidt forskellige holdninger om den. Vold er forfærdeligt. Men det er psykisk vold også. Og den bliver bare udøvet så utroligt meget mere imod drenge og mænd. Der er sjældent nogen der hjælper der, og det er langt mere socialt accepteret. Det er sådan det meste hjemmevold starter. OG burde stoppes dér. Men det fortsætter. Og kommer før eller siden ud af kontrol for begge parter.

Det jeg elsker ved karakteren rene er at selvom han er pimp - så er der stadig empati for hans drenge og de passer på hinanden. Der er jo to scener hvor han f eks er i den der bil og sender Nick et “hjælp mig” blik, drengene tøver ikke og flår køren ud. Den anden er slutningen hvor rene bliver smadret fuldstændig - igen ingen tøven fra hans drenge. Det som om han er urørlig og sat på en pedestal af de andre fordi han ikke bare sender dem ud til farlige mænd og forsvare Jean osv - den film har så meget dybere i karakterer det helt vildt!! ((Siger han omkring rene fordi det hendes mandspersona og jeg er doven😂))

All of the props look great! I hope filmmakers continue the art of practical effects. It's even cooler how with a touch of cgi it looks so real that it's offensive hahaha. This is one of my favorite films ever

That is the first time I hear her speak with Australian accent. She sounds so different than she does in the movies where she plays British or American characters.
