Nice cover Lee, I'm a big 80's music fan and same as you, using music production techniques has opened up a whole new world of music to me. Also, check out JulianCroot channel, his covers are spot on.

I really like doing it this way but im finding it quite tricky. Working on another track today (Depeche Mode). So many things keep going wrong but Im slowly sussing things out. Yamaha have been great with the advice but it only goes so far because I cant really expect them to help me with Logic Pro...but im almost ready to record my next track. Im attempting Photographic by DM :-)

@leeabakermusic I don't think people realise how much work goes into it, it took me a good 6 months to learn the basics, I'm now a few years in and still learning but loving it. You can tell the difference from my early songs to my newest ones lol. I've played the keyboard for years but could never finish a song like I can now with all the added tracks on top including drums, strings, orchestral elements, etc.

Using the DAW does certainly add something different and definitely worth trying, but you'll probably find you run into various issues when setting up. Ive spent another hour or so with Yamaha on another issue but eventually we sorted it. I have my fingers crossed im all set up now, but the beauty of it all is that the Yamaha Tech Support is really good. Every time Ive called with a problem they've been great. :-) But once it's all set up it opens up new options. Im currently working on a Status Quo track and playing the guitar as they did/do isnt easy by hand on the keyboard and im still in the experimenting stage but hopefully I'll get the sound im after via the DAW...

Fantastically done, Lee !!! Great performance. 👍👍 You do it with DAW, I’ll try it at GENOS1. The fun is the same. I’m looking forward to more videos. 😊 You can be proud of your musical talent. New subscriber for you. 👍👍 Greetings from Elvira. 🎹🎶🎵🎧

Well done Lee. It matters not how you make your music, as long as you enjoy it and the end result is satisfying for you. There’s plenty of people who have gone before you who have cut their teeth in a similar way. You are walking in the steps of giants!! Enjoy! 😊

You definitely could do with setting up a camera pointing at the keyboard so we can see what keys are pressed when you play a tune like this

Thats definitely something I can look into. I have a spare go pro which I may try out and see if it'll work inside. Its really good out side but seems to struggle inside but worth a try.

Definitely m8, evenn if youre just playing lead or something over the top of prerecorded sections then you get people like me who watch and copy where your fingers go, also its visually more interesting and adds more depth to your production

Thank you for this video! I was panicking after trying to update to 2.01 and the update failed. Note - If using MacBook, make sure you leave the updater in the foreground during the update, don't try to do something else, and make sure you computer doesn't go to sleep then you should be good.

Just updated to 2.0. This was helpful, but I could not go from 1.12 to 2.01. I tried multiple times, 2 different PC's and cables. What fixed the update was this instruction plus updating to 1.3 first. Then I went from 1.3 to 2.01 with fingers crossed and all seems good.

Omg in almost 10 attempts it’s working😭😭😭 Tips for another poor souls who got frozen pod go trying 2.0update : after you managed to detect your pod go with line6 updater, Download 1.40(the one that you already got) first ! This is how I got at least normally functioning pod go. bit scared to update 2.0 again😅 +2.0 update successfully done!
