The only automatic car I would buy is a peugeot 205 automatic. But I rather buy a manual peugeot 205. Hopefully soon in the next 2 months or so. Here in germany there are many still on the market. I want one in white with no sunroof. Preferably a XS or 1.4 because they have a rev counter. But I haven't found the right one yet as they all have a sunroof. : ( Beautiful roads in france.

I think this might have been a relative success in europe! Here in Sweden we got the Fiat Strada, which was the pickup version of the brazillian Fiat Pailo. Pretty poopular with excavator or loader operators due to low cost and being cheap to run. Just saw that the Hoggar has a 406 doorhandle as handle for the tailgate XD

7:05 i'm willing to bet that corrosion was caused by the use of our sugar-cane ethanol. That fuel contains water in its composition and sometimes water accumulate in the back mufflers because its never hot enough to evaporate. The exhaust on flex-fuel or ethanol only cars always corrode from the inside out, specially if you use poor quality fuel
@EudesRJ3 ай бұрын
My family exclusively uses ethanol for years and I didn’t saw corrosion because of it, usually I saw those kind of corrosion on cars that are parked outside on the grass, mine is parked over a cement floor and didn’t corroded. Only the regular surface rust spots on a few parts.
@Channel205UK3 ай бұрын
That's interesting to know thank you. The exhaust gas does have a smell to it which I assume comes from it still running ethanol remaining in the tank as I have not yet put any UK fuel in to it.

Here in Brazil we use 100% ethanol, except where gasoline is less expensive, it varies from state to state. First flex cars had a gasoline starter small tank, the but by 2010 I believe most manufacturers had eliminated it by replacing with some glow plugs (like diesel, right?) to warn the ethanol on cold starting. I don’t know, I’m from Rio de Janeiro and what is considered cold here is anything bellow 30°C
@wellsouza883 ай бұрын
This Hoggar is equipped with the "cold start" fuel tank, it is a tank with a red lid. This system was replaced by the Flex Start system, which uses heating in the injection nozzles themselves and/or also heating candles in the injection nozzle flute.
@Channel205UK3 ай бұрын
Right now its 9°C but it's encouraging that my Hoggar starts instantly in these temperatures. The sensors must all be in good order.
@BMPellogia3 ай бұрын
you probably got some gasoline in that small tank because the injection is automatic.
@EudesRJ3 ай бұрын
@@Channel205UK on the 2 weeks of cold we have in Rio de Janeiro (between 9~14°C on my area) my UP never had problems to start on ethanol. Starting on cold was a known problem on old cars from the 70s and 80s, on the mid 90s I believe it was a thing from the past.

Congratulations!! I’m a Peugeot collector in Brazil and I can understand the feeling of receiving such a rare car to your region. I don’t know if there’s any other Hoggar in Europe apart from yours and the one in Peugeot Museum in Souchaux (red as well). As the one in the museum is not for regular use, yours is the only one being used properly in the roads!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Interesting you mention the Peugeot Museum. There is a photo online showing a black Hoggar in their stores, when I asked them about it they said it no longer exists. They told me it was donated by Peugeot to the museum for spare parts only and it seems now dismantled. I have never seen any evidence of another Hogger in the museum, if you have any more information on this I would love to know.

While the curator speaks in French, the journalist speaks in Portuguese and English lol, you can try to activate the automatic captions of KZfaq to try to understand a little. Peugeot Hoggar: A 206 with the front end of a 207 and tailights from a 1007....love it!
@Channel205UK3 ай бұрын
Indeed. Peugeot built the 206 PLUS hatchback in Sochaux which the Hoggar is based on, however they snubbed the Brazilian development of the pickup truck for Europe's markets.
@alexandersugai79763 ай бұрын
@@Channel205UK Just as a curiosity, in Brazil, the 206+ was called 207, as the European 207 was never built here. For economic reasons, to launch the European 207 here would require big investments in the plant and it would be expensive compared to other car manufacturers compact cars, so Peugeot made the facelift in the 206 and launched as 207. That’s why maybe you will see some Brazilian people commenting that the Hoggar is the “207” pickup.

@@Channel205UK Another interesting fun fact. As the Hoggar uses the taillights of the 1007, and the 1007 was the last Peugeot designed by Pininfarina, we could say that the Hoggar is a 3% Pininfarina designed car 😂😂😂

The Mercedes we have had for around 6 years and lavished quite a bit of effort on it to make it road worthy. Cheers, Chris
