This is a great video; and a great idea. This could become a real craze/social media sensation: cycling the borders of a country... how about doing that in each European country? In India? Brazil? China? Phew, so many possibilities, so much cycling. I feel tired just thinking about it.

If I ever go to the Philippines from the Seattle port, I believe that is the way I would like to go, fathoming that I could bring a lot more baggage, even a small cargo box, thinking to retire there. It is almost like hitching a ride. I wonder how to communicate, and deal with the freighters that make such offerings? Might even be a way to take a round trip to the same place just to check out everything first. A Kindle reader, some books, and a fold-able reading chair that accommodates a cup. I am surprised it is not more popular, but not surprised with people wanting to rush everywhere with convenience.

Ik ben voor ik naar Compostela vertrok een 3-daagse gaan doen met al mijn bagage en heb er daarna een deel uitgegooid. Een 2 selectie heb ik gemaakt na 5 dagen fietsen. Mijn zus kwam me toen bezoeken en ik heb een deel meegegeven. Ook op de fiets is zo min mogelijk bagage het beste! Zeker als je geen e-bike hebt. Regen is vervelend, maar als je je avonturen filmt, dan hoort regen er ook bij. 😉 Nog veel plezier met je project!

Dankuwel voor de lieve woorden!! 3n ja regen hoort er zeker bij, maar mijn cameras etc mogen niet nat worden + ik wou graag mensen aanspreken op straat en niemand staat te wachten op een gesprek onder de regen, dus was het effe tricky :) dag 3 komt volgende week online, een van mijn lievelingsdagen tot nu toe 😍

I haven't used couchsurfing in a while now. If you're a slow traveler I have great experience with Welcome To My Garten lately. Social media yes, I could recommend but in my experience only for via via connections 🫶 let me know how it goes!

Hi, thank you, that's a great question. I have a koga trekking bike. I can check the exact name of it next week. The wheels are Schwalbe Marathon and I'm really happy that I didn't have any problems and had to change them 🫶 I do think that my problem getting through the sand was mostly because I have heavy bags and I'm not so trained or used to these roads since it's my first bigger trip traveling alone 😍

Ik denk dat Nederlandse fietswegen beter dan belgische wegen zijn want als ik in belgie ben gegaan, had ik niet gerealiseerd het grenz omdat er geen vlag was. Maar de wegen was veranderd. Op dit manier zag ik dat ik in Belgie was. Het had echt minder kwaliteit dan Nederlandse fietspaden. Aan de andere kant, is 1500 km echt dapper. Gefeliciteerd :D (Ducth is my 3rd language. So, if I made a mistake in the comment, sorry for that :). I am still learning)

dankuwel is super lief ! Ja dag 1 waren de fietspaden niet helemaal geweldig, maar volgende dagen waren beter, vooral zodra ik de app "komoot" begon te gebruiken. Sindsdien veel minder problemen op fietspaden gehad! :) en you speak great! what other languages do you speak?

Good luck on your trip! I cycled last year from my home in Belgium to Santiago de Compostela. Almost because I also hiked part of it. Cycling is great but often harder than you think. I had to cut down on the daily kilometers! Now I'm hiking the Belgian/German border in small sections with another KZfaq channel. That's Fun too. So enjoy your trip! 😊 Groetjes, Kaat

@@ClaraFrancken the border adventure started last year with 2 days. Did another 2 days last week, but the video will only be out in the beginning of july. For Compostela, I cycled 18 days in spring 2023 and about the same in october. Also hiked the last 5 days in october, which was fun. I hope for you that the weather will get the coming weeks. Because cycling in the rain and wind is no fun. Good luck! Kaat
