I feel like what truly gives tails the win is emotional intelligence that actually helps his problem while eggman lacks it to combat his problem eggman problem is mostly ego but tails problems is mostly self doubt not beleiving he can do what he can a bit of more minor example when his gear is insulted in sonic riders but he always has sonic knuckles or whoever else to reassure him meanwhile eggman surround himself with his machines who only around to remind himself of his self proclaimed greatness though also as a caution since when they do gain a personality they turn on him or are just incompetent and whenever he teams up with a non robotic person or entity he believes he’s pulling all the strings but really is another pawn even adventure 2 where granted was doing pretty good was really shadow and his dead grandfather who were in control of the events or with eggman nega where even when they were fully team up you can tell it was the latter who was the true mastermind they granted eggman has gotten better at this actually being able to control the time eater or having a back up when infinite failed and of course other version where he actively makes his Allie’s want to betray him like with snivley where he’s done in by him in both version tv show indirectly by not listening to him or the comic directly by having his machine be used against him cause of his constant belittling leaving him to lose even though up to the end he’s pretty much won showing how even the most accomplished of his portrayal will always be done in by that problem where tails has people to help him improve all eggman has is people to keep him in his own disillusioned of self worth or people he has to take precautions on him

it would be impossible to meassure sonic's full speed anyways. People always cancel out videogame sonic in debates to pull the archie sonic card, but really, video game sonic is pretty broken too. He himself probably doesnt know his full speed. Sonic runs at different speeds depending on what situation he's in. He almost outran that "black hole" without a boost, but then somehow ran fast enough to return life and color to the world in generations.
